Just a quick hi to welcome you to the board!
I don't think it's just people that have never been JWs, I think JWs themselves can't understand why ex's can't just let go and disappear (which would be convenient for them!).
I guess it's something that only ex jws will ever understand, and that's what binds us together.

Witness's run from Sleepy
by sleepy inthere i was happily cleaning widows,( which by the way is a highly skilled job that you have to go to oxford to learn )getting that shine just right when a pair of witness's came into the cul-de-sac i was working in.the first two didn't seam to notice me , but then came from round the corner a couple more eager beavers.
(as a side note , they all had typical witness raincoats on even though the sun was blasting it warmth over the street, maybe it was a who can look like the dirtiest pervert comp.).
well i could see them in the reflection of my newly shinned window.they stopped dead in their tracks as a delema had now hit them.they didn't seam to know what to do ,sleepy was cleaning the windows of the house they were about to call on.before long a little group had gathered on the corner who didn't seam to want to go into the cul-de-sac.do i smell?am i a murderer?were my shorts out of fashion?.

I think you're an uncomfortable reminder that there is life after Witness death.

what would you do if you could live forever and ever and ever?
by Zep inyou know, living forever sounds really great.
but really, what would life be like without death?
death really helps to define who we are.

Eternity is a VERY long time.
I would spend a few billion years getting to know everybody really well.
I might breed butterflies and see how long it takes them to wear away a granite mountain by landing on it or brushing it with their wings.
I would then learn how to sign my name at a sub-atomic level and seek out every single atom in the universe and sign my name on it, waiting for the hot ones in stars to die out. After that, well, I've still got eternity ahead so I might start all over again but in chronological order.
How many atoms were there in the universe? Let me count them again, and again and again. Count all the atoms in the universe, a billion times. Experience every conceivable event a hundred billion times each. And still eternity stretches ahead...
Our poor ape brains simply cannot comprehend what eternity would be like.
80-90 years sucks, but being doomed to live for eternity might be even worse. I'm with Farkel on this one, a couple of billion years would do and then be able to choose to become mortal again.

I RENOUNCE MY ASSOCIATION WITH JWS
by REALNESS init is my pleasure to announce i have terminated my membership of the jehovahs wittnesses.
i shall be formally making this statement known to my congregation at tomorrow nights meeting after i have taken the ministry school.
for many years i have developed my own thoughts on religion and this along with the information i have learned here and on other sites has convinced me that i can no longer live teaching the bollocks the wtbs.

I really hope you're not yanking our chain Realness. But like others I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt.
So...congratulations on taking the red pill! (Matrix)
Please be careful, like others have said, about how you chose to leave, think about the long term especially if you have family that may shun you. If you have it's better to simply fade then you can still speak to them, leaving the JWs doesn't HAVE to be dramatic involving DF or DA.
Again, welcome to the real world.

GM cancer jab 'could save thousands' by JAMES CHAPMAN, Daily Mail
Thousands of lives could be saved by a remarkable cancer treatment being pioneered by British scientists. Studies suggest that a transfusion of genetically engineered blood cells could give cancer patients a powerful boost against their disease. In laboratory tests, the technique proved 100 per cent effective.

If it does prove to be a successful treatment I wonder if JWs will ever be able to save themselves from cancer using this treatment, after all it is made from blood! This could really scare the GB!

"I bought this war game for my XBox and I want my money back"
by Simon inpicture the scene:.
you buy a new tom-clancy type game for your xbox / ps2 / pc and rush home to play it.
you guide your soldier through the enemy terrain and discover an enemy outpost ... which then surrenders.

I loved C&C when it first came out - played it for days on end.
I'm just going through Red Alert2 all over again and enjoying that too. Playing against real opponents is far better than against the computer.
I used to get together with a group of brothers every Boxing day and play all day - they don't come anymore.
