Dear Brothers:

March 20, 2014

We are pleased to inform you of a significant decision made by the Governing Body that will affect the work of traveling overseers worldwide. Effective September 1, 2014, the organizational role of district overseer will be discontinued. The responsibilities previously cared for by district overseers will be simplified. Some aspects of their work will now be cared for by experienced circuit overseers and Bethel representatives.

This simplification will mean that many of those who are now serving as district overseers will be able to use their spiritual qualifications and rich theocratic experience in serving once again as circuit overseers. We very much appreciate the role that district overseers have filled in training others and in strengthening the organization over the years, and we know that these spiritual men will continue to be used by Jehovah in a mighty way in their new assignments.—Isa. 60:17.

PS to coordinator of the body of elders:

Please arrange for this letter to be read to the congregation at the first Service Meeting after its receipt or after the next Watchtower Study, whichever comes first. Thereafter, it should be posted on the information board. If the circuit overseer is visiting your congregation, he will read this letter at the conclusion of the next congregation meeting. At circuit assemblies and special assembly days, the letter will be read by the last speaker on the program at the conclusion of his talk.

Assuming Ray Franz's depiction of the "2/3 majority" needed to make policy or doctrinal changes still holds,

We have to make something clear, this policy of 2/3 still holds, because according to the instructions from the GB/FDS/WT to the BOE, the majority always and the minority have to submit. So, it holds true. The BOE applies it to every decision. The majority always wins either if is 2/3, 3/4,4/5 or whatever.

Don't the scriptures say something along the lines that the GB would by dying off by way of a martyr's death?

All lof the ones you mentioned my friend did not belong to the FDS...so...

Troubling experience at 1 day assembly re: little jw child

just had my 1day assembly this weekend.

an experience given by the bethel speaker was quite troubling and shows how jw's live in constant paranoia, anxiety and they isolate themselves from normal living.. a first grade class was having a fire drill.

everyone ( except one) lined up and stood outside away fron the classroom in the grass.

i suppose that would mean it's ok to go eat with unbelievers?.

last night i was watching the secret elder's video about the jw who sleeps with a worldly women and i could not stop laughing.. when i was 17 i thought that all worldly women would sleep with anyone, i remember a beautiful neighbor who i tried to kiss and she just flat out said no.

i tried twice to make out with this girl and i just could not understand why she would not say yes .

she did not have an aquarium.... .
