badly handled from Elders
by Olivia Wilde ini am still attending the kh, i actually recently became aware of the ttatt, what i believed came as a huge surprised for me, i wasn't raised as a jw and have been for about 15 years.
i have always been a very open minded individual all my life always seeing both sides of any situation with logic and common sense and so i believe discovering all of the doctrines i have been taught sense 16 years of age, wasn't extremely hard for me to realize in my heart it was a lie.
well it was me discovering the watchtower society being a ngo member of the un nations for 10 years, after that the snowball just got bigger for me.

Helen Keller is not a hero
by StopTheTears infew realize just how wicked some of the most revered people in history were.

Helen Keller was a socialist, not a communist. She was passionate about workers rights because she was shocked to learn many people became blind due to industrial and work conditions and lack of safety and regulations at the time. She was not alone in her views, many people were interested in workers rights at the time. On paper, socialism seemed like a good thing, history had yet to prove that it didn't work and would result in people losing their individual rights. It's ridiculous to judge people of a hundred years ago by our standards today and what we know now. J. Edgar Hoover was a paranoid nut case, having him keep a file on you meant nothing.
The Satan worshiping angle is pure nonsense, not only untrue, but silly. Please do more research before posting fake internet stories.

Interesting article about a small religious cult in Chicago. A man who grew up in the cult and suffered abuse set about to make a documentary about the religion. He didn't set out to make it about sex abuse, but in interviewing people he found out a lot of people had been molested as well. He was isolated and shunned for making an accusation.
Interesting in the comments section some people are still trying to minimize the abuse and pretend he was exaggerating. It seems to be like the JWs, if it didn't happen to you, it couldn't have happened to anyone else.

A Judicial experience.
by John Aquila inwhen i was an elder in the 80s, a 16 year old baptized jw girl had confessed that at school during lunch a boy kissed her and touched her privates over her dress.
the circuit overseer was in town and we told him of the situation and he called the society and then told us that mother said we were not allowed to conduct the funeral in the kingdom hall or anywhere else with the threat of removing us and being dealt with judicially if we disobeyed.
the mother who is about 79 years old comes once a year to talk to my mom about the situation.

That is truly a tragedy for everyone involved. How can anyone think this organization has God's blessing when they are so lacking in love, the thing that Jesus said would be the mark of his true followers?
Of course we were all conditioned to think this callous indifference was needed discipline, and the rank and file were kept ignorant of how cruel they could be. The organization was good at making you think black was white.

Many people are jealous and intimidated by people who are attractive, they may try to say hurtful things to bring you down, it's called leveling, they want to bring you down to their level. They are also probably intimidated by your spunky personality. The organization is also not kind to single women, they don't really know what to do with a woman on her own, as they have no status unless they are married. It's a misogynistic organization, women are considered less important that men.
If you don't mind my asking, what is keeping you from leaving?

BTW: I was in America just last week and down in Texas no less (San Antonio). It was nice (but HOT!). I didn't get shot so that was nice.
I went to San Antonio last year in August. It was horribly hot. I only went then because my grandson was graduating from Air Force basic training. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit then, but the winters are nice there. I loved Riverwalk and my husband found a really nice boutique hotel there, so that made it bearable.
I agree we have a problem with gun violence here in the U.S., but I think sometimes it gets a bit overstated. In 2013 there were 10.64 deaths per 100,000 people in the US. Canada and The UK were much less, 2.2 and .26, but many counties were much more. But it's not like every day here is the shootout at the OK corral.

Armageddon is coming soon, so soon, just around the corner, this time we really, really mean it.
Paying attention to the Faithful slave, because we are bound to get a prediction right sometime.

Are You Raising An Introvert?
by darth frosty inits not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

Those are all good, I'll be passing them along to my mostly introvert family. -

Theory of Evolution and humanity are moving in parallel, and in opposite direction too!
by iconoclastic inproponents of evolution theory was comfortable with their easiest method of induction that says something like this: i saw a blind man in the us, then in russia, then in australian, then in africa ..., hence all men are blind.
yet proofs are abundant for the decline (opposite of evolution) we experience globally!.
1) most humans declined into greed, the result of which is climate change which has the potential to wipe out all life from the earth.

So much bad information.
Morals and evolution have nothing to do with each other. You are comparing two completely different things. It's like you are saying that the fact we have less oranges than yesterday proves we have less apples that yesterday.
Evolution is about survival of a species, period. There is nothing either moral or not moral in survival. Morals are a construct of mankind, nature doesn't care.
Humans have not "declined into greed", we were always greedy, it's just that now there are more of us and technology has enabled us to do more activities that produce carbon, thus climate change. Nothing to do with evolution either.
Religions have not "declined into decisiveness". More people = more religions. Also nothing to do with evolution. Nothing.
The bible foretold nothing. People have been complaining about declining morals since before the bible. In the bible, slavery was good and rape was allowable in the right circumstances and women were owned by their husbands. I would argue we are more moral now than in the bible times.
Deadly diseases are not on the increase. One hundred years ago the average life expectancy was 45. We have eradicated many comunicable sideases and made serious improvements in cancer treatment. You can go back to 1915, I would rather live right now, or even better, a hundred years from now when they will have beaten cancer and heart disease.
