popping in to say hi.... been away from the forum for a long time.... had some serious health issues starting at the beginning of this year.
on the mend now, and getting back into the swing of things.... great to be alive!.
I'm glad you are doing better. I've been doing better with my health issues as well.
... a riot, i predict a riot !
(great song).
the republican party allowed themselves to be taken over.
I think it's possible Trump will start his own party. He has has been pretty soundly rejected by main stream republicans, but the fame and adulation is a drug he will not willingly give up.
He will be a problem for republicans for years to come.
if he get pass this, america deserve him...... conversation 10 years ago..
Hillary, on the other hand, will further policies that go contrary what I believe are good for the country, and instead will make it continue down a long-term path that I believe is no good. So, what do I do?
I get what you are saying. While I dont like Hil, her politics are fairly close to mine. But if you are concerned about her policies, do you even know what Trumps policies would be as president? He is not a true conservative, so who knows who he would appoint as supreme court justice? He has made it clear that getting rid of illegal immigrants is his priority, but how will he do that when he doesnt even work well with his own party, much less the democrats.
Trump will not be a good president for anyone no matter what your politics are.

They cannot force Trump to step down, he would have to recognize that it would be in the best interest of the republican party and good luck with that, he has never had any loyalty or connection to the republican party, nor would never admit he did anything wrong or could not win, his ego would not allow it.
Granted, Pence did a credible job in the debates, but at the same time he doesn't believe in evolution as "it's just a theory", not someone I want leading the country.

this is the one thing that i have struggled with since leaving the organization.
i recognize the need and value of belonging somewhere, being a part of something, showing up weekly to a community where me and my husband and children are loved and utilized and incorporated and cared for.
a place where are my kids qualities are nurtured and encouraged , and then reigned in and developed when needed.
You might try United Church of Christ (The "united" part is very important, the other Church of Christ is horrible). They are very welcoming and have no doctrine. I thought of attending for the same reasons as you, even though I am an atheist. They didn't have a problem with my atheism, it's a kind of go with the flow type of thing. The have nice nice music and snacks and do a lot of charitable works.
My experience is that eventually you do develop a community of friends of various kinds, it's just not one big group. It takes time, so it's not going to happen overnight, but it does happen.
i decided to join this forum as have been lurking awhile.
there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.
i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.
Welcome, glad you found us. I have been out for quite a while and don't think the organization is at all like the one I left. Not that they didn't always have issues, but it seems they lost what little good there was in it.
