I am suffering the terrible misfortune of having to be here on business (sniff, sniff)
If any of you other ex-JWs are nearby, I'd love to meet up for coffee or whateve.

Gerard,
Follow these two links:
Pop over to http://www.jpmorganfunds.com/pdf/fd_prsp_LAM_i.pdf and scroll down the section entitled "Minimum Investments" and you will find the following: "Investors must buy a minimum of $20,000,000 worth of Institutional Shares to open an account."
If you then go to http://www.jpmorganfunds.com/pdf/fd_prf_LAM.pdf , you will see that the fund assets are listed as $1.69 Billion.
This is big!

Okay, after a couple false starts, I think I have this figured out. Tell me if I got this right or not. Looking at the link you posted, it looks to me like the WTBTS of PA is actually listed as 5.51% owner of the J P Morgan Liquid Assets Money Market Fund:

If you go to http://www.jpmorganfunds.com/index.jsp?uuid=F11404F1E66B3AD4-10390318391991990&fund=2252&team_id=3 and click on "Fund Profile" under "Fund Literature", it will tell you that the fund assets are $1.69 Billion. If you take 5.51% of that $1.69 Billion comes to $93,119,000. That is some serious money!
BTW, notice that Paul Allen owns 8.1% of the same fund. Wasn't Allen partner with Bill Gates when they started Microsoft?
Interesting stuff all around.

What are the chances that Brother Diddles-Little-Girls&Boys gets reported to the SAME elder by two separate children to report "separate incidents of the same kind of wrongdoing"?
In the case of Daniel Fitzwater, there were SEVENTEEN people that accused him of molesting them and still he was not brought before a judicial committee. In his report to the WTS, the circuit overseer said that he recommended that an investigatory committee be formed. He should have been reported to the authorities long before that.
anyone know people from the state of maine?
or knew people from maine?
wonder if anyone knew jws from there?
Zanex, I remember these well:
Frank Sanfino - big shot assembly overseer. Around 1995, if I remember correctly, he did something that got him bounced from that position and he was removed from being an elder. I don't know what it was, but a friend of my wife's said to her "You don't even want to know!" - I do want to know :)
Alan Buck - Good guy as I remember. I worked with him at the district conventions in the attendant dept. I used to kid with him, calling him "Uncle Buck."
Manfred (never "Manny") Bracklow - The ultimate sound system geek. He knew acoustics better than anyone I ever met. He worked out a program that would layout speaker locations based on the size and shape of an auditorium.
Fox & Bisson are familiar, but I can't place first names with them at the moment.
Rayzorblade - Alan Brown sounds familiar, but I can't place him.
I also knew two of the elders named in the suit against the WTS in the Ryan Rees case in Augusta. Larry Baker molested Ryan Rees after Baker had already been dealt with by the elders on a previous case of molestation. Rees sued, saying that the WTS and the elder had failed to protect him from Baker. Bob Wells and Pat LaBreck were named in the suit. Bob was high up in the assembly organizations and I worked with Pat in accounting at the circuit assemblies in my later years.
So many people - such a waste

Peter spoke at Witnesses Now for Jesus in 2001. Very good, down to earth, and knows his stuff.

I was in the Kittery, Maine and Portsmouth NH congregations from 1973-1996. I knew people from Kittery to Augusta.
life without tobasco.................could you go on?????
mac, of the "i think not" class .
holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
We do a fair bit of hot stuff here. My wife has a collection with more than 150 different hot sauces. "Dave's Insanity" anyone? :)
She also grows jalapenos, cerranos, habeneros and a bunch of others. I use here pickled jalapenos as a cure for colds. A dozen of them with however many beers it takes to get them down, and no self-respecting germ will live in your body.
Just what we need is a whacko UFO cult cloning people. Are they that desparate for members? Don't they know how to knock on doors?
i wandered into a "christian" book store the other day, i was out of town on business, not sure that i would do it in my own town, where i might get spotted and ratted on to the elders.. i bought a copy of one of william barclay's book, a study of john's gospel.. as i read it, i keep thinking how good it is compared with the watchtower!
the society bangs on about the abundance of spiritual food but i find the watchtower and most other society literature shallow and unchallenging.
i can speed read a watchtower in about 5 minutes and still keep abreast with "new light".. this guy, barclay, however really knew his stuff and was not afraid to go into detail.

This guy, Barclay, however really knew his stuff and was not afraid to go into detail. What is interesting is that he personally was a Universalist, believing that God's love is so great that all will eventually come to salvation. A little different from the current witness theology.
I read Barclay's "Many Witnesses, One Lord" and I think it was him that wrote "The Lord's Men" about the apostles. Both are great
