Witness funeral used to spread "Watchtower Propaganda".....worldly family left OUT!
by Witness 007 innow that my "eyes are open" i was amazed as i sat at a brothers funeral {he died due to lukemia/not taking blood} the elder mentioned his "spiritual" acomplishments for 20 minutes, his worldly acomplishments like creating a home buisness from scratch and employing his whole family was mentioned in one sentence.
and worst...his worldly family was barely mentioned...he did not mention he was the son of so and so {worldly folks} this was commented on afterwards by worldly friends!???
too much time was spent talking about paradise and the hopes he had etc etc...same old bible verses that were done to death.....blah blah......we may as well have been at a communist party meeting!

We're having an old exJW friend and her husband over for dinner tonight. On the menu - Lamb roast with garlic and rosemary, new potatos and string beans. Dessert is chocolate bread pudding with real whipped cream. A wee dram of Old Poulteney or Ardbeg (thank you Ninja) single malt Scotch whiskey to finish it all off.

We went home to Scotland this summer. Shea and I are both of Scottish descent and have been involved in Scottish events here in the US for a few years now. Our trip this summer was my wife's third trip there, my first - but not my last. We went for The Gathering - the Scottish games and clan gathering. We spent a week in Edinburgh and another in Inverness. I felt more at home there that I have in many places here in the US. I know little about the JW culture there, but had a great time hanging out with Ninja. He met us at the rail station in Glasgow and drove us around Loch Lomand. We returned to Glasgow and enjoyed some curry and company with Ninja, passwordprotected, hoboken and iknowall558.

Biggest marriage age gap About 30 years. He was a CO so it was ok I guess
Back in the late 80's there was an elder in our area who at the age of 68 married a 28 year old. By the time he was 73, they had 3 children.

Reference to not mentioning GB in reports
by bibleresearcher ini think my previous username was "tfjw" but i had to get a new account.. .
anyway, i'm doing some research on judicial cases, how they are handled, the use of the secret "flock" book (pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock) and other related topics.
i'm trying desperately to find the quote referring to the elders where they are not to mention the governing body or the society, as it may be, in certain reports.

November 15 Watchtower (Study Edition) - discourages showing affection to your spouse
by CrazyBlonde inanother gem from the same edition - article to be studied december 28 - january 3 (which most will miss lol coz of summer vacation) entitled "what do your prayers say about you?
" page 6 para 19 reads:.
19 when we are being represented in public prayer, we need to display reverential "fear of god.

This is a very subtle but effective thought/act control strategy by the self-styled "faithful and discreet slave." By saying "some might be stumbled" by something like hugging during prayer, or beards, or anything else they want to really want to ban, they give implicit permission for all to be stumbled by it. So rather than overtly banning something, all they have to do is say that "some might be stumbled" by it and they've accomplished their purpose.

Hi Cognac's hubby. We're just up the road from you folks here in Kittery Maine. If you ever want to meet up over in Portsmouth NH (right next door), we'd love it. Lot's of good places to eat and drink - and great coffee places.

Mexican Mashed Meal at the Friendly Toast in Portsmouth NH. Spicy mashed potatos, chorizo, a couple of eggs, topped with chipotle sauce. It's a heart attack on a plate. My wife and I get one and split it.
Biscuits and gravy is a close second.

Watchtower Farm in Walkill NY is less than three miles from downtown Pine Bush, which for years was a hotbed of UFO activity. Google "Pine Bush UFO" and see.
(As I remember, it was the Pine Bush Congregation of JWs that met in the Kingdom Hall at the Farm.)
P.S. I just noticed that JWN does not squish all my lines from the iMac together the way JWD did - YIPEEE !!
