Society letter read to all congregations July 28,2006 !!
by headmath ini got news of this from the jw grape vine today that at the meeting on thursday(yesterday) there was a letter read to all the congregations from the society.
for the first time the society says in the letter to prepare for great tribulation and to have plenty of emergency supplies in case of a disaster.
this has shaken the up the jws it seems.

Old habits die hard...
by Swamboozled ini still have to mentally remind myself to say "bless you" when someone sneezes because i was taught by jw's that this is a pagan (superstitious) practice.
i always thought it was so rude not to say it, but bit my tongue.

Intro and ? that has probably been asked a zillion times...
by Swamboozled ini don't want to bore with the tedious details...but long story short: my husband was raised a jw.
he da and married me 6 years ago.
i was so appalled at the fact that his family shunned him that i insisted on a sit down with his mom to explain.

What rebellious actions did you or other do in your congregation?
by JH inwhat rebellious actions did you or other do in your congregation, not enough to be disfellowshipped, but went a little too far.
sometimes we have to unwind .
i remember sitting in a brothers car.

On The Art Of Fading
by expatbrit inin october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.
