  in october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.

  like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).

  fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.

  If it's any consolation (and I'm sure it's not ), the creaters have a new show coming out this fall that looks pretty good. It's about what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood. It has a lot of big faces in it, including Josh from West Wing!!! Can't remember what it's called.

  what is the best book i can give to a jw to convince her its all a big con ?

  Yeah...it sucks to have your little girl ask after one of her first meeting why women can't give talks. "Well sweetie, you can do anything you want in life, have any job, do anything you set your mind to...except give a little speech on that little stage". YUCK!!!

  Old habits die hard...

  i still have to mentally remind myself to say "bless you" when someone sneezes because i was taught by jw's that this is a pagan (superstitious) practice.

  i always thought it was so rude not to say it, but bit my tongue.

I always thought it was so rude not to say it, but bit my tongue. Now I have to remind myself...SAY BLESS YOU! Anyone else have something they had to remind themselves to do to undo the brainwashing?

  Crisis of Conscience told me everything I needed to run as fast as I could out of the Kingdom Hall and never look back. But, like the others, many won't read it stating it as apostate literature. You may put a note on it that says "truth should be able to stand up to even the closest of scrutiny: what is there to hide if it's the truth?" I have an overwhelming urge to gift wrap copies and put them on doorsteps. I still may do it.

  what rebellious actions did you or other do in your congregation, not enough to be disfellowshipped, but went a little too far.

  sometimes we have to unwind .

  they were playing stupid games like holding up a watchtower or Awake and you had to guess what month, and reading bible scriptures and you had to guess what book and more points if you guess chapter and verse. I was so sick of it all, they even had a guard at the door in case any worldly people tried to enter, I told the guy at the door to let me know if any worldly people show'd up I'd leave with them, Can you believe they actually had walkie talkies??
