I have always been in amazement at the math the WT uses. Even my graphing Texas Instrument calculator can't keep up with it. So I guess this time they made it easy for the simpletons to grasp. Before it was like trying to understand the infinity of pie. Remember the Old Babylon book? Sheesh they squared the root and cubed the square to the power of 10 then divided it by the number of magazines placed by the backcalls made in 1936. Then they took the Russell measurments of the Pyramid and multiplies it by the number of quarts of Bourbon Rutherford consumed in a week. Then Old Joe had contact with the Spirits ( you go figure this one) and redefined the dictionaries definition of a generationand then flipped a coin 144,000 times counting the number of timed heads came up and presto you have the new light. Are you confused yet? What? you dare question the faithful and discreet slave? You have no faith? Well you've got 30 more years to figure it out. Me? I'll be 84 and probably won't give a hoot. Peace.

District Assembly talks about apostates............
by integ indistrict assembly 5/24/03 3:40 pm "beware of the voice of strangers".. 1) counterfeit words: beware of those using "counterfeit words".
2) flirting: young ones need to avoid being lured into relationships with un-believers.. 3) you trust your christian parents...listen to them.
you also trust those taking the lead among you..such as elders.

I can just see my exwife sitting at the assembly now. I can hear her chanting, "I knew he was an apostate, I knew he was an apostate!" Now she can call me apostate vomit! I rather like that title compared to some of the other choice Christian names she has called me. But the Truth set me free after I realized that that the Truth was based on castle built on a sand foundation. Remember how the Society in its writings would crow about how the skirts of Babylonian religion where drenched in blood and filth and how theirs where pristine white and pure.Well I got a news flash for them. Their skirts are pretty dirty right now with the blood of innocents and filthy with the lies and double speak of the flickering candle of new light. As some have said here before, news travels fast these days and there is a group of very angry people who want to toss this Jezebel to the dogs. As for the vomit part, I like what Redd Foxx once said. " I drink the good stuff so when I throw up at least I know what I have on my shirt." So as we dwell in our so called vomit at least we know what it is unlike the brainwashed drones of the Borg. Peace, Marco

Consider this. The average education of an elder is just a High School diploma. This doesn't qualify him for any type of counseling, not even my dog. And as I have been following the thread in these posts I shudder at the psychological damage that is done to the youngsters who are forced to sit in a room and face their molestor and recount the molestations. They do not realize they are re molesting the child all over again. I work at a substance abuse clinic and one of our outreach programs deals with woman who are substance abusers and battered also. I work as an advocate for the clients of all the programs. Having visited this outreach program and hearing some of the horror stories these women relate I have found that many of them where abused and molested as children. It takes highly skilled and trained councilors to be able to deal with this trauma. An uneducated person can cause irreversible damage to the psyche of of one of these women. Many of them turned to drugs or alcohol to forget their pasts. So I ask you, does the WT or its trained clowns, the elders, have any concept of the damage a committee meeting has on a child or teen that deals with molestation or abuse? Or is all they care about is the so called pristine image of the organization? The parents are to blame also. They should never allow their child to be submitted to this type of cross examination or embarassment. The effects later in life can take a hefty toll. I know, I am a victim who never spoke out and lived with what I thought was my sin. I turned to alcohol to forget. But after getting help I am dealing with the issues and my heart goes out to all those victims who fall prey to the so called princes among men. Peace.

Bill Bowen's Comments on Ray Franz
by silentlambs ini wish them peace.
at the end of the conversation i did not feel we were in agreement.
for similar reasons i believe ray has not supported the issue of child abuse being a problem in the organization to media and by personal comments to persons who ask him privately about this.

This post by Bill Bowen was an excellent rebuttal. Those of us who own an open mind can see the truth in his statements. I personally do not care about the memories of an 80 year old man. Ray in his time contributed greatly to those of us who needed to see the truth behind the facade of self righteousness the Watchtower eminates. His work is done so leave him alone. To try and make him own certain issues now is tantamount to blaming Nixon or Carter for our crisis in Iraq. It is the present day group of miscreants that must own this issue of child abuse. I can speak from my own history since my abuse occurred in the 60s and there was no idea or concept of pedophelia in the organization. You were df'ed if caught and you got away with it if you lied well and didn't have a second witness plain and simple. In fact the victim was usually blamed. What I find sad is that the present day batch of Witnesses are so blind. I have been in communication with one elder and when I suggested that he would change his view if he were to read some of the victims stories he vehemently said that he and no one in the organization would read such lies. This is so typical of the closed, shuttered mind set that is causing so much of the problem to begin with. The blind leading the blind.

I read the sad news quickly this morning before I took off for the day. To say the least it placed a serious damper on the rest of my day. Jan was a wonderful person and we all will be hard pressed to find someone to take her place what with all the wonderful and caring things she did in her life. It was especially uncanny for I had just read an e-mail from her the night before. My deepest condolences to her family. Rest In Peace my dear friend. Mark H. Palo

Fried Baloney sandwhiches? Good for your waistline! As long as you add mustard of BS, a garnish of half truths, a dollop of insincerity and place it between two slices of toasted mentality bread you've got a winner. Maybe Burger Death or McRottens will market the idea. They can call it the Armageddon Whopper or McWatchtower. Buy the value pack and you get some unlevened bread and a shot of wine to boot. For kiddie toys they give away toy figurines of JWs dressed to go in service and for the bad guys they have a DFed individual dressed in sack cloth with play stones for a imaginary stoning. Hmmm, I think I'm on to something here.

It is not an insult if you have been through what I have been through. I have seen some pretty wierd things in those years. But then I can write a book about them. Ask me a specific question and I'll answer it. Do I think the JW mentality is slightly off kilter? Yes without a doubt. I think that any religion that isolates itself from the outside and has an under siege mentality is not healthy. I go to sites like this to keep up with the goings on in both the Witness world and what my fellow ex JWs are thinking, doing and saying. The reason I keep up with the JWs is that I still have family that are captives of theirs and I like to know what is happening to them. I have given up arguing with active JWs, it is a monumental waste of time. From what I am seeing the Watchtower is digging their own grave without any help from me. ie: Silent Lambs, The UN membership, owning stock in a defense manufacturing company etc.

Heavens NO! Not another religion! We have enough of them. I don't think Bill Bowen would even think of that. I had a good laugh at a previous post where someone said they can think they are talking to Jesus on this list and not be considered whacked. I can agree with that line of thinking. Queenie knows me and I am whacked. ha ha. But I am doing better now, I have stopped wearing my tin foil hat so I don't hear the voices of Russell and Drunken Joe echo in my head. Instead I let my answering machine take those calls. It's sort of funny, Rutherford keeps saying, "give me a bourbon neat." Now there I go, talking crazy and I just finished my days stint as an intern at a substance abuse clinic. But then after being a JW for 40 years I guess I can fit into any setting that doesn't deal in reality. Peace!
