LMAO......as much as it is funny....truth be told, it is also very uncomfortable knowing that people are actually trying desperately to avoid you. How are you 'supposed' to act/respond? I mean, they are going out of their way to steer clear of you like you are possessed or poison......it's so unreal. I would love to be a fly inside the car group after they see me!!!!

my mother and i were talking about christmas being in december, and how the christians felt it was truely a victory to have christ jesus birth still celebrated, unlike the pagan sun god that was celebrated by the pagans at the same time.
we got to talking and realized that if you count backwards from when scholars really feel jesus was most likely really born (in september), and count back 280 days of pregnancy, it would actually be late december!!!
could it be that the birthday was from the date of conception, not delivery???
We know what we know.....we believe what we believe......and as for CHRISTmas.....we are celebrating it to the fullest this year!!!! We have no reservations, no guilt and no regrets. Thank you GOD for the emaculate conception! MERRY CHRISTMAS......& GOD BLESS US....EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my, can I relate. About a week ago, my husband & I went to dinner at a local restaurant. We saw not one JW family but TWO. One of the families was about to leave and they walked up to the other family's table to talk to them. When they turned to leave, they walked thru and around every single table to avoid walking by us. It was the FUNNIEST THING. Then, the family that was still there, were finished eating for over 10 mins. (we were FACING them and could see everything and they looked at us numerous times) and they stayed there until we got up and left. Had we not had somewhere to be, we would have sat at that table until they CLOSED the place!!!! Funniest thing is, the table that waited........it was just discovered about 2 or 3 months ago that the wife was having a 2-year affair. Well, the other family that talked to them.....the husband is an elder so apparently.....NOTHING was done to this woman. We Da'd ourselves but they treat US like we're a disease!!!! Another funny thing.....this husband (of the woman who had an affair) works out at our gym and the other day I was in there and he was 2 machines away from me and looked right at me. Neither of us did anything but go to another machine. Isn't it sad? I'm not leading a double life anymore but his wife was and she is still considered favorable in God's eyes!!!!! What a JOKE!!!!

I am sorry for you too and you couldn't have said it better....."IT IS WRONG!" Can you even imagine how our moms and dads would feel if the tables were turned and WE disowned THEM? How heartbroken they would be. I'm a person who hates to know that I've hurt someone or that they are mad at me and if I did this to my mom and she was as devastated as I am now......I wouldn't be able to sleep at night! I can only 'pray' that eventually, her heart will open and then in return allow her to open her mind.

I really am grateful for your post. thank you so much. It helped a lot. I wish you well on your situation too. I wish I could call her and leave a brief message as well but, she demanded that I NOT email or call her home ever again. I guess there really isn't anything I can do but 'hope' one day she'll come around. It's a shame. On the brighter side, we have made so many friends since leaving the org. that I can't even believe it. We & our children are invited to something at least once a week and when we were attending meetings, we were lucky to get invited to anything EVER. We would NEVER go back, not even if it meant having my mom back in my life. As far as I'm concerned.....she's the one suffering, not me and for that reason, I feel sorry for her.

Hi everyone! I haven't been on the forum for quite sometime now. Life is so crazy busy these days as a NON-JW....holidays, birthdays......but it sure is FUN!!!! So, most of you may or may not remember my initial story on here.....left the org, DA'd ourselves & then my mom disowned me. Well, that happened in August and I thought every day would get easier. Surprisingly, it actually hurts more with time. I broke down and sent a letter out to her about 4 pages long with nothing but FACTS and where they came from (literature, scriptures, etc. thanks to the help of a fellow member of JWD). I thought with my heart and just KNEW she'd call me and we could talk about it. To my surprise (I don't know why....just naive I guess), she reacted even more angrily. Here's the funniest thing. I sent my niece an email, very innocent, just a laughing baby from YOUTUBE.COM. Anyway, my niece forwarded it to my mom (who is her grandmother). My mother emails her and says "Do NOT forward anymore emails from J******* and I will only say this once!" OMG......WTF??????????? I mean, is she afraid my emails carry demons that will come into her home and attack her? Or does she really HATE me that much????? I just found this out on Friday and I've been sick over it since. My mom is 63 years old and has really poor health. If she dies hating me, I will never get over it. Any advice? comments? suggestions? stories?

it is a long way to my ranch..i mean along way..i live hundreds and hundreds of miles from any large city..the only general store is a miles and miles and miles away..once you get to the area i live,you have to travel a wagon trail that was here in the 1800`s.you`ve got to travel that wagon trail for awhile.there are a few wagon trails that split off from the main one..it`s a whole lot of nothing in every direction..if you manage to chose the right wagon trail to my ranch you still have a way`s to travel.once you get to my ranch,it`s fenced off,the gate is closed and the huskeys guard the yard..your not getting in.....what do i see when i get to the ranch gate?..it looks like a letter,stuffed into a plastic bag..i get closer and it`s too big to be a letter,maybe it`s a wanted poster for outlaw..lol!
!..i finally get to the gate,pull the plastic bag from between the boards of the gate..it`s a 2 page pamphlet about as thick as 2ply toilet paper.it says:"the end of false religion is near!"..??

I'll bet that was a car group with a pioneer who only needed 4 hours to fulfill the month and what a lazy way to get to that quota! Those were the service days I LOVED! :)

as jw, we were not allowed to cuss, right??
well, i had this friend whose mom substituted "piss" for every cuss word.
I grew up with 3 older sisters so I cussed & flipped everybody off all the time. Then I got caught by my mom......you didn't want to mess with the MOMS......she'd hit ya with a shoe while she was on the phone stirring dinner! Seriously though, it's funny, since I've become a mom myself with 3 young kids in the home, it's very common to hear "holy crap", "sugar" or "man alive!"........when I'm really mad though, I've let things slip and my children tell me those aren't nice words! I find cuss words to be unnecessary unless you are emphasizing something or angry....where then, nice words like "sugar" don't really express things the same way! I commonly call bad drivers "idiots".....now my son has been calling my daughter an idiot. Can you imagine if I called them something REALLY bad???? Kids...........they sure do keep you in check!!!

Jeff, I agree whole-heartedly with you. Thank you for your input & opinions. One thing I keep telling myself is that no matter what, God will read my heart and knows what I feel better than even I do. I think that is what the majority of all cases comes down to.....IMHO that is.
