  ...How Long did You Lurk?...

  when i first found this place,i did not want to post.i wanted to see what was going on,and get a feel for the place..getting into a debate with some of the "meat eaters" here,was not at the top of my list of things to do..lol!

  )..so my question is:how long did you lurk before you decieded to take a chance and make your first post?...outlaw

  I saw the site a year ago, but wasn't ready so I immediately closed it when I saw ex-jehovah's witness advertising. I think I thought it was for active JW's to converse.

  But about after attending this last convention, I was ready. They had a part talking about how Jehovah loves the elderly, and I just keep sitting thinking about all those people who had been patiently waiting for this world to end and nothing happened. I started imaging myself there. And with all my doubts about the blood issue and the "generation" issue, I was like no way.

  I read one post and was registered 5min later and posted my story maybe a day or so later.

  My New Job

  just had to share this one with you.... i was offered a job on the next series of survivor, working with the cast and crew for 3 months during the shoot.

  i thought i was going to have to turn it down because misspeaches wedding is in the middle of it, turns out, they might be able to give me work for 6 weeks instead of the full time, fingers crossed, that would be awesome!!

  What one thing reminds you most of being a Witness?

  the mind is full of all kinds of things that can trigger memories.

  it could be the taste of a certain spice that reminds you of a now passed relative who liked to cook.

  it could be the smell of a perfume or cologne, that reminds you of a lover you once could not live without.

  a little prayer for my hubby and i would be greatly appreciated.... grandma passed away last night battling cancer...we stayed by her side to the end... she was a lovely lady...we will miss her tremendously... i could go on forever on, how young she was at heart....... many thanks,.

  ANNOUNCEMENT Going Undercover To Rescue My Daughter....con't

  continuation...my hunsband and i were jehovah's witnesses for over 40 years , and my husband an elder for 15 years in orange, calif. we resigned in 1983, and lost our daughter to this cult for 10 years.after all the efforts to communicate failed, i decided to rejoin and become a member again in 1993. we were labled "apostates" and their policy forced my daughted to not talk to us.

  i took this action only so i could communicate with her and eventurally show her their cult-like errors.. i was encouraged by my family to write about my two year rescue journey.

  in it i explain the stuggle of de-programming her through this process, plus the exposing of her elder husband as a (child molester), also the organizational structure, how they operate as a goverment within a goverment, and do not disclose to the civil authorities crimes committed by their members.

  Celebrating holidays

  just wondering if you still abstain from celebrating christmas birthdays etc or if you do celebrate them how long did it take to feel comfy with doing it after you'd left the jws?i'm fading at the moment but although me and hubby have talked about spending xmas with our nonjw families and i told him i was going to start sending bday cards to my family, the thought of it scares me like its a big huge sin.does it ever feel natural to celebrate holidays?i used to love all that sort of thing before i was a witness but when my mum and stepdad wished me happy bday last month it felt really odd and i was uneasy.i find it v confusing cos i can sort of see that jesus wasn't born in dec. but maybe he can have 2 bdays like the queen!also not being able to send fathers day cards this year was the final straw for me i felt so bad about it so i have lots of making up to do but just hope i can enjoy it all without feeling bad.

  i know they say some bday things have pagan origins but there are things jws can have or do that also are pagan.wedding rings for example.thanks

  Me personally I have never understood what was the big deal in giving thanks to God for all his blessing by gathering together the most important people in you life (family). I celebrate Thanksgiving, I love the whole family getting together and I have been celebrating that for about 4 years unbeknowist to my mother (JW). I wouldn't mind b-day's, valentines/sweetest days, (Memorial day /Labor Day to bbq), but I couldn't get into christmas or easter. And possibly Hallow's eve, the kids look so cute.

  Most annoying...

  There was this one elder, that everyone like worshipped because he was a good speaker/teacher. Well he always thought it was his job to tell me what was modest. I didn't wear stocking with a skirt..Not modest. I wore a skirt that came to my knee and not below... Not modest (really pissed because most of the other sister did too!). V-neck blouse, instead of scoop...not modest. And I was not even 15 at the time. He got on my freakin nervous, because he always made sure to point to a sister who was more modestly dress than I.

  Now I don't know if this has any significance but he got Df'd for commiting adultery.... maybe I was inciting him to lust, who knows!

  The JW organization could be the best for finding women !!!!

  i was at bethel not long ago.

  and other then the hypocrisy i saw the most beautifull women in the world all in one place.

  bethel makes the miss universe pagent look silly.did i mention these women are from all over the world, bethelites can stay in other countries for cheap because they can stay in assembly halls.
