i say the bitterness is directly proportional to the amount of emotional committment we made to their teachings.
if we accepted them wholeheartedly, the bitterness was immense as we discovered the lies and coverups, while getting the blame on the missed date predictions, and seeing the ever-increasing legalistic structure of the society, not to even mention the shunning by loved ones who still remain.

I think mostly I was confused when I decided to quit. I wanted to believe, but I felt like things did not add up. At my congergations, most were good people trying to put God first. We had a few elders who were harsh but I think in their own warped mind they thought they are up holding God's standards. I'm more mad about now because I see how bad some people have been treated by their families and how thousand of people end up uneducated for no reason.
My only regret or feeling of bitterness is not staying close to my sisters (from fathers first marriage) and their mother. When she died of Cancer I did not know until it was too late to say goodbye because my mom and the teachings of JW's had drilled into me that they were bad association. Those are things you can't ever get back or makeup for.
I can't hold the bitterness to me though or they (JW's) win. They say you can't be happy out of the organization but I intend to prove them once again to be incorrect.

COLLEGE!
by RichieRich inoh, so in the midst of everything else, college is goin well.. about 30 % of my high school graduating class came here, so its really just like high school part2.
i have 2 morning classes, and 2 night classes, so that way the majority of my schooling gets done on 2 days of the week instead of 4. last night was my first night in my english 111 class.
i already knew thaqt there was one witness in there, but its someone who i've kept up with, and someone who is cool with me, as i am.

The irritating slant to almost everything negative I have seen on Witnesses
by free2beme inwhen i left the witnesses, a person from work gave me a video about the witnesses that his church uses.
i thought it would be interesting, so i set down and watched it.
what i found was another example of one church taking about another, to then counter with points that support their way of thinking.

I may not want to go the KH anymore, but I hate when people who've never been starting doggin witnesses. I feel like they can't really relate to how it really is. As far as ex-JW's being negative about the organization, I understand how they feel and just try not to let the bitterness of the situation get to me. I much rather move on with my life. I'm not saying I don't reflect on the past or crack jokes like the rest, but I've decide not to let it consume me.
I don't know if I'll try another religion out, in general the thought of church (organized religion) makes me sick.. I rather focus on my just being a good person and a positive member of society.
And that's my 2cents, keep the change.
