Welcome JC HoHo No Mo!! My Mom put me on a bit of a guilt trip too when I first left. I am sorry you are having to go through this, it is so difficult at first. I have to say that even though I feel relief at no longer having to put up with the constant guilt trip from the self-righteous people, it continues to be painful when it comes to famiy matters and loved ones who won't communicate with me, in my case it is my daughter. That is why this board is so helpful to me, to see that others have had the same experiences and felt the same things.

Did anyone see or do a random act of kindness today?
by okie46 intoday while unloading my groceries, i witnessed a random act of kindness... someone in a ford explorer was waiting for a car to leave a parking spot so they could pull in there, they had been waiting for several minutes when finally the car in that spot backed out and left.
before the person in the ford explorer could pull into the spot, a lady in a ford taurus pulled on into that parking space.
the person in the ford explorer who had been patiently waiting, just sat there, they didn't honk or flip the person off, then the lady in the ford taurus realized that the other vehicle had been waiting for that spot and backed out to find another spot, letting the guy who had been waiting have his spot.

I thought that was so nice of her... so many times things like that happen in a parking lot and this was the first time I ever saw someone back on out and give it to the other person. Things like that make me determined to be more considerate of others. Kudos to ford taurus lady in Tulsa, Oklahoma Walmart, 41st and Peoria.

The FUNNIEST thing I ever did was start laughing in the second school while giving a talk and I couldn't stop and couldn't finish the talk, when I had sat down, I didn't realize my skirt was up over the arm of the chair and I was flashing everyone until someone motioned to me. The worst thing happened right before this event, see below, which is probably what got me so flustered.
The WORST thing I ever did was get into a fight with a sister (whose husband was an elder) in the bathroom who wanted me to take my daughter out of high school so she could pioneer, she was sticking her nose repeatedly in my business. I had finally had enough of her and shoved her up against the door so she couldn't get out and proceeded to read her the riot act. Another sister who was in the bathroom broke up the fight and chastised us.

Happy Heretic, Freethinker, Apostate - How do you see yourself?
by Seeker4 inin the thread on agnostic or atheist, startingover posted an article by a woman who is referred to as the happy heretic.

I am not sure yet, I am still coming out of my cocoon... For right now, I see myself as a an independent, freethinker who is less and less afraid all the time to try and experience new things and new beliefs, I am beginning to realize how brainwashed I was. I do believe in Live and Let Live and in trying to see the best in everyone if at all possible.

What disfellowshippable offenses have you done for the day?
by ColdRedRain intoday, as i celebrated the last day in the first half of my 20's, i started doing all sorts of sinful things.
i have done the following disfellowshippable offenses i've smoked weed, i've been on an unchaperoned date (with the most wonderful person in the world, my beautiful and still charming ex girlfriend), i've gotten drunk, talked to a disfellowshipped person, and to boot, i'm on an apostate site.

well since last post on this subject, I went to the pool, swam, watched the hummingbirds and squirrels, listened to the locusts, came back to my apartment, drank wine and talked about men and religion with a neighbor friend of mine. Guess nothing major?? My life is pretty tame really.

Big Announcement - From JW Elder
by Qcmbr inif you read my other post you'll get the context but since this will be of great potential interest here it is: .
the jws are soon(next few months) going to make a public proclamation against all other churches which he was confident would 'shake things up' and would make a few jws unhappy???.
is this the big announcement for september?
-

They always say there is something special to be announced in september because it is the beginning of the service year and it gives everyone something to look forward to because it always makes everyone think that Armageddon is getting closer. It always used to scare me to death, they just want everyone to pay closer attention and not stray
