Attention Elders: Could we get the list of talks, and maybe even some....

These are scans of the actual talks from WTS, not just the title or the references. I also have public talks dealing with Blood, Giving Jehovah what we have, Who Will be Saved, and many other talks. I'll scan those later today.

Runningman is correct the talks are boring. But AuldSoul is also correct...if more of the WTS silly words are made available for all to see, then people can make an informed decision.

the secretary is under pressure a couple of times a year to get the record cards in order - the month/weeks before the CO visit. During this time leading up to the visit the secretary and bookstudy overseers will scramble to get with irregular publishers. Again, I know a couple of secretaries that would make assumptions that So-and-so went out in service and put some time on their card even though they didn't report for a particular month.

I did. I reported between 14 - 18 fake hours, 15 - 25 fake RVs, 2 fake Bible studies, and occasional books & booklets a month, every month last year.

I know others that do the same thing, so those numbers in the WT service year report are definitely skewed.

Usually the Service Committee handles this, but all of the elders are supposed to discuss this at their biannual elders meeting. Though I doubt this happens.

apostates - all liars - generalizing

one thing that really pisses me off and stops me "coming out" as an apostate is that, if somebdoy becomes an apostate they are automatically liars in the eyes of jws.

every time apostasy is mentioned in magazines it is always in the context that they are automatically liars.

to my mind, most apostates are evry truthful, but the wtbts/ rank and gfile etc , automatically brand you as a liar when you become an apostate and it really angers me.

At the district conventions last year there was a talk something about addressing opposers questions/not listening to contrary speech, something like that. Anyway, as the talk begins I'm sitting there thinking, "Dam* the Society is really going to address some of their dirt. Wow, I hope my wife is listening this will confirm to her the truthfulness of all the stuff I've been trying to tell her."

Of course the talk doesn't mention anything specific, just goes on and on about not listening to apostates, don't read this-n-that online, etc. By the end of the talk I'm pissed, and my wife is pissed, because she knows I'm sitting next to her seething, and as far as she's concerned her husband is still Apostate #1 - Satan has got ahold of me and won't let go. I'm a lost case.

Yeah, the WTS has done an excellent job equating Apostates to Liars & Evil Ones.

Thanks for making all of these publications available. The Convention manual is a nice addition with the upcoming JW District Conventions.

Imagine that - a publishing company's publications coming back to bite them. When the internal memos, i.e. BOE letters, find their way back online it will be a sad day for the WTS.

Too busy/not enough time.

Not enough time to keep up with the latest magazines and publications. Not enough time to do housework, errands, hobbies.

Too busy with "theocratic" activities and tired all the time.

Not enough time to do normal things now, but will have more time in Paradise.

Most of the JWs I talk to just want some down time, some time to relax and breathe.

SERVICE REPORT 2005 : WATCHTOWER FEB 1ST 2006

i have had a quick look and found no references to this, so - here goes..as in the mag we picked up on sunday.. worldwide % increase over 2004 = 1.3%.

memorial partakers 8524 (compared to 8570 in 2004).

most european and nth american lands show pretty static figs - britain 1% increase, canada 0%, germany 0%, france 1%, usa 0%... but spare a thought for the inhabitants of zambia where 1 person in 90 is a reporting witness, must be hell going down to the local market!

I was talking to some Witness friends & family about the WT annual numbers. A couple of them admitted that the numbers are suspect because,

"Pioneer So-and-So is never seen in the ministry but still a pioneer; or several Aux Pio spend more time at the doughnut shop drinking coffee than knocking on doors. If this is happening in our congregation it must happen in many more."

So during the conversation I'm thinking maybe there is some hope for some of my friends & family, but then they excused it away saying "these are the last days and the love would cool off, so declining numbers show how close we really are to the end of this system."

That really irritates me! It seems no matter what happens some just will not see what is really happening, they will follow the WTS under any and every circumstance.

Ozzie - You are right about their over-use of acronyms. They must be trying to impress the publishers.

There have been some other posts today regarding the WTS' blood stance. From this letter, the Dec KM, happenings in England, etc. I don't think WTS is backing down or softening their position. They have truly painted themselves into a corner.

They just won't leave our family alone:

"...the court can determine a capable teen to be a "mature minor," hence competent to make medical decisions. In these cases, the HLC together with HIS and the Legal Department may be in a position to assist."

"...some publishers wisely appoint non-family members who are Jehovah's Witnesses as their health-care agents...Thus, if you are hospitalized and unconscious, your family members will not be surprised when a non-family member speaks for you regarding health-care matters."

"HLC brothers will often be at the hospital when an emergency develops, and with your permission they may discuss your case with the doctor."
