maybe the effect of this change is bigger than realized?
in 1995, it was discussed (positively) by everybody, during the week we studied the wt.
one elder stepped down and was looked down upon.

at the circuit assembly this weekend i noticed two guys reinstated within the last year were both serving as attendants.
i thought brothers had to be "exemplary" to do that kind of work.
have the requirements changed?

while an earlier version was made available privately the time has come to 'progress'.. conscious class and ex both strongly adhere to not keeping things 'hidden' in regards to wts publications, talks and documents which are circulated in order to maintain it's position.. another wonderful poster (who has yet to give me permission to name) has 'reduced' and 'bookmarked' the first full copy link i was given by our 'winner'.. in this newest and final 'clean' copy link you find two other additions besides the reduction/bookmarking..... the brother who uploaded the entire book wishes all to have a copy that includes both boe ltrs (pre-ks ltr and spiral binding ltr).
also another development has occurred.... the brother responsible for this book being brought into light and put forth for public consumption and discussion has requested i post this letter explaining to 'us' (jwn posters/global audience) and 'them' (wts of penn & ny).. i ask you give attention to his words/ experiences as he is representative of a newly emerging demographic within the conscious class.
so without further ado i give you his link and the 'stage' if you will to 'brother johnson'....... [link removed - contact ynot for further info - lady lee].
Got it.
Thank you Yknot and everyone involved. I hope Johnson finds peace of mind.
Ok, Sylvia. I won't be mean. No worries, Arkansas will beat South Carolina in a few weeks. I think we can all agree that the SEC is the toughest conference for college football.
Nick Saban and crew should have lost to the Razorbacks a couple of weeks ago. Wooo pig sooie!
i found out that in a local congregation the service overseer has directed that magazines not be given by jws to:.
a) inactive jws.
b) return visits that are not coming to the meetings after 6 months.
WTS & JWs are synonymous with magazine distribution. Now the magazines are an EPIC FAIL for the WTS.
Throw in congregation members out of work (which puts a strain on the rest of the congregation), monthly congregation expenses, and an Org sitting on thousands of properties & equipment yet little cash flow...they must be looking for ways to further cut expenses. But then, again, as I type this I think about the current District Conventions. They're handing out books and brochures like they're going out of style. I don't know.
on june 12th in the u.s. the fcc banned wireless equipment that operates in the 700 mhz band.
churches and other groups had to switch their wireless systems to make room for emergency services.. have the khs in the u.s. made these changes or are they still using 700 mhz wireless systems?
are they outlaws or complying with caesar's law?
At one KH in close proximity to a fire station, three congregations have meetings on Sun (3x), Mon, Wed, Thu, Sat. Any of these meetings can interfere with emergency services. Anyone know how to report a violation to the FCC? Can't find anything on the FCC site.

Interesting. At the KH my mother attends she said the public edition mags have been piling up since the new arrangement a few weeks ago. An elder made an announcement last week for the publishers to pick up mags after the meeting, too many mags in stock between the three congregations that share the KH.
WTS knew the publishers weren't placing all of the mags that were ordered by the congregations. The field service reports gave them a good idea of how many mags were going into the trash. With the new arrangement plus this new directive (probably came down through BOE letter) I believe WTS will begin cutting back on number of mags printed.

last night during the service meeting a letter was read indicating that more money was needed by jehovah's witnesses in order to expand the world-wide work .
it was suggested that each publisher take a piece of paper and write down the amount of money they would be willing to give and hand it to the elders.
it seems to be a cleverway to gather "seed money" by the organization while not calling it a "tithe.
A letter was sent to U.S. congregations a couple of weeks ago.
The gist of the letter...due to the economy some congregations may have a problem repaying KH Bldg Fund loans to Society. Beginning this year and continuing annually, the BOE will ask the publishers to turn in a slip of paper indicating how much they can donate towards payment of current loan. Based on the publishers' responses the BOE may decrease or increase the monthly payment. If the monthly payment is decreased the difference in the loan balance will be added to the end of the loan. If the monthly payment increased the "extra" money will be used as an equalizing across the brotherhood.
Again, this is for KH Building Fund loans, not local congregation expenses.
