The Gentiles Times Reconsidered--Again but this Time By Using the Bible
by thirdwitness inthink about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

It seems.......
by agapa37 inthat despite my sincere efforts of sincerity and honesty that most who interacted with me were rather uptight and rude.
i really dont understand it.

Let me assure you that JWD is a welcoming place - as I'm sure you realised when you were lurking, eh?
I'm an active witness... and I've found this place to be just that. However, regardless of what type of topic/thread you may start or contribute in, you will have mixed replies... both what you were expecting, and not. I have read some of your posts, and something as simple as not using CAPS unless you have to absolutley have to, might ease some of the responses. BOLD with caps stresses a point even further, and some may take it as yelling or more. If you want to stress a point, without seeming abnoxious... simply underline it, and they'll get the point. Even italics can be used for stressing something, but usually reserved for quotes.
BOLD AND CAPS ARE HARSH! AND NO, IM NOT YELLING... NO... NOOOOOO... well, maybe I am now.
And expect to respond to everyone that responds to you... otherwise they'll think you're purposely ignoring them. I've seen this many times over... I'm still waiting for the weekend to respond to some things i've been waiting for. Only simple responses from me until then.

stillajwexelder: Auldsoul - you naughty person - you have not done today's Watchtower. It reads ; ; --
Therefore, if you have a basic knowledge of Jehovah and his purposes, a sincere desire to do his will, and a good reputation in the congregation, and you are faithfully attending meetings and sharing in preaching the good news of the Kingdom, why would you put off getting baptized?--Matthew 28:19,20.
So there you have it - all the pre-requisites for ; baptism - and also the
watchtowerscriptural ; ;proof - Matthew 28:19,20 in black and whI read that same article... and interesting that you brought it up, for I was going to use it in addition of supporting my case against AuldSouls previous thread. But why use something so obvious in favor of what AS supports?

"Thirdwitness -- An Agent of the Governing Body?"
Or maybe I am... maybe I'm working in conjunction with the GB... with TW, Scholar and the like serving me up as bait, feeding the site with a fictional life story along with a random picture in order to gather sympathy and pity... working as a Trio of apologists for a single hidden agenda...
The purpose?

is there any scripture provided to support the statement?

I try to be as thorough as possible, and I am currently reading through several books... and bible to make my case. You'll have your answer soon.
And yes, I do understand you want your answer based from scripture only... as opposed to what you have currently received.

I asked... and I have recieved.
by saki2fifty inwell, just go back from my little trip up to austin and had a really great time.
hung out with wifey, visited the state capital, did some site seeing, and conquered the muddy buddy race!
after 3 days away from home, we're now back in houston and i was eager to get back on the board and do some reading.

Daniel's 3 year training and the 2nd year of Nebuchadnezzar.
by thirdwitness inthe previous 607 thread was locked down where the 587 defenders could not overcome the clear reasoning of the bible about the 40 year desolation of egypt.

but before it was locked down norm brought up a lot of points.

Why do JWs do these things
by curiouskev inwhoever can answer a few qs for me i would be grateful!.
i would really like to know why wittnesses shun people at meetings or weddings or social gatherings.
i understand the need and desire for members of the church to help other wittnesses back into the fold after they have committed a serious sin!
-

because the watch tower society tells them to. It's supposed to be an act of love on their part, to remind the sinner of what they are missing by not being able to enjoy fellowship with other witnesses, though I personally see very little loving in evidence
The above was mentioned, then later a few quotes from the bible was pasted. I dont see the problem. Regardless of how the WTS translates or applies this among their people, and regardless of if they see a person as someone not even eating with......how are they wrong for this?
If I was told to wear purple shoes by God... I wont question it.
------ <saki> I just saw the 2 links WhereamI provided... so I'm reading them now.

How many here have left the org because of this board?
by mrsjones5 ini ask this question because saki said this in another topic:and i would assume that a lot of people on this board left due to this board alone "proving" the lies of the wts.
so, it this true or false?
or is this mostly true or mostly false?
-
saki2fifty
Nope, haven't left left, still take my wife and kids to the meetings, still wear the white shortsleeved shirt with the typical and matching black pleated slacks, combing my hair to the side with some vaseline, displaying a never-ending and happy smile full of white, bright teeth in spite of knowing that someone wants to slap it right off my face... and just enjoying knowing that im irritating your all by knocking on your doors!
However, I have realized that my beliefs (by way of this forum/board) of my future may not be as bright as I had hoped, and enjoying life of earth may not happen. Instead, there is a good possibility that I could be living a lie, and all those wondering beliefs that I had of peace on earth may be false.
Instead, I could live a great and happy life, grow old, die... and thats it. Now thats a future.
(and no, im not a hardcore JW, but rather your typical, ignorant, follower..)
