I do not understand why anyone is saying I don't answer questions.
Agreed, 10 out of the 12 with direct answers.... regarding the topic of this thread.
think about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.
why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?
as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

how did you get to the point where you are at now?
was it primarily new information that made you rethink religion and god?
learning about the ice age, the universe, the fossils out there?
No, I'm not Athiest or Agnostic, but rather a believer in God. A believer in the God that you once served.. Jehovah. I personally cannot grasp the concept of or even want to grasp the concept of their not being a God. Yes, I personally dont find the meetings all that exciting, but for me what keeps me going in life itself, is knowing there is hope. Hope for a better life. I will now fight to my death in defense of not just growing old, dying and thats it. I want what "Jehovah" promises. I want that paradise. I want my kids to grow up in that fantasy world as you all now see it. Just looking up into the sky on a dark night, showing my kids the absolute beauty of the heavens... real beauty... and all from nothing? I know, its much more complicated than I would like to believe... but that hope of a better life is what I'm living for.

Responses to Thirdwitness' original topic of this thread has been 91, and replies/rebuttals of his own has been 12. Speaking of this thread only,
thirdwitness, I can't help but wonder why you keep trying to divert attention from the fact that you will not answer direct questions.
his ratio of answering questions directly has outweighed the 91 "direct" replies that this thread has generated so far.

Welcome back!!! I enjoy your debates with the big boys... and visa versa.
that despite my sincere efforts of sincerity and honesty that most who interacted with me were rather uptight and rude.
i really dont understand it.
forgive my babbling.
Let me assure you that JWD is a welcoming place - as I'm sure you realised when you were lurking, eh?
I'm an active witness... and I've found this place to be just that. However, regardless of what type of topic/thread you may start or contribute in, you will have mixed replies... both what you were expecting, and not. I have read some of your posts, and something as simple as not using CAPS unless you have to absolutley have to, might ease some of the responses. BOLD with caps stresses a point even further, and some may take it as yelling or more. If you want to stress a point, without seeming abnoxious... simply underline it, and they'll get the point. Even italics can be used for stressing something, but usually reserved for quotes.
BOLD AND CAPS ARE HARSH! AND NO, IM NOT YELLING... NO... NOOOOOO... well, maybe I am now.
And expect to respond to everyone that responds to you... otherwise they'll think you're purposely ignoring them. I've seen this many times over... I'm still waiting for the weekend to respond to some things i've been waiting for. Only simple responses from me until then.
thirdwitness -- an agent of the governing body?
this evening i was talking with an old friend about recent postings on this forum by jw defenders.
we concluded that something unusual is going on.
stillajwexelder: Auldsoul - you naughty person - you have not done today's Watchtower. It reads ; ; --Therefore, if you have a basic knowledge of Jehovah and his purposes, a sincere desire to do his will, and a good reputation in the congregation, and you are faithfully attending meetings and sharing in preaching the good news of the Kingdom, why would you put off getting baptized?--Matthew 28:19,20.
So there you have it - all the pre-requisites for ; baptism - and also the
watchtowerscriptural ; ;proof - Matthew 28:19,20 in black and wh
I read that same article... and interesting that you brought it up, for I was going to use it in addition of supporting my case against AuldSouls previous thread. But why use something so obvious in favor of what AS supports?

Or maybe I am... maybe I'm working in conjunction with the GB... with TW, Scholar and the like serving me up as bait, feeding the site with a fictional life story along with a random picture in order to gather sympathy and pity... working as a Trio of apologists for a single hidden agenda...
The purpose?
(definition).
in this thread we will examine chapter 18 of the book what does the bible really teach?, entitled baptism and your relationship with god.. .
is there any scripture provided to support the statement?
I try to be as thorough as possible, and I am currently reading through several books... and bible to make my case. You'll have your answer soon.
And yes, I do understand you want your answer based from scripture only... as opposed to what you have currently received.
well, just go back from my little trip up to austin and had a really great time.
hung out with wifey, visited the state capital, did some site seeing, and conquered the muddy buddy race!
after 3 days away from home, we're now back in houston and i was eager to get back on the board and do some reading.
Bah... I couldn't help myself. I tried staying quiet for a week but couldn't do it. Oh well...
the previous 607 thread was locked down where the 587 defenders could not overcome the clear reasoning of the bible about the 40 year desolation of egypt.

but before it was locked down norm brought up a lot of points.
That's great! lol..
