  i had a phonecall last night from an intoxicated lady most of you will know as misspeaches.

  it was hilarious, especially when she offered to send a photograph of herself to me in the middle east, to give to some philippinos that i work with!

  of course in return they had to smuggle some alcohol onto the boat for me, fair trade i say!.

  I have just remembered your exact words, when telling me they should smuggle some alcohol onto the boat for me were:

  "its not rocket surgery..."

  Get me some of that red cab sav, as opposed to the white cab sav?!?!

  "it's been said....."

  an elder in my hall prefixes his sentences with this phrase: "its been said...", usually followed by some ridiculous bullshit; an example: "it's been said that mans greatest accomplishment has been the worldwide preaching work".

  i guess all scientific and medical advances are secondary.

  anyway, his last one was this: "it's been said that by reading the awake magazine one can get the eqivalent to a college education.

  I definately remember them saying you would gain equivalent knowledge from reading the Awake as going to college! I wonder if I had read all their publications would I be able to say I had a degree in bullshit?

  my current favourite is www.couchsurfing.com its a travel website with about 80,000 people registered worldwide.

  if you're planning a trip, you can see who's registered in the area you're visiting, read their profile, send them an email and, if its available, stay on their couch!.

  how many of you have armed themselves?

  i recently bought a high powered rifle and am presently buying a pistol for back-up.

  i have a cross bow, a compound bow, and several swords and knives, in fact i have been collecting knives for some time and have learned how to use them in defending myself and in taking the initiative in learning to defend myself.

  i am quite versed in using both the croww bow and the compound bow, it seems the goverment doesn't want to defend us and just wants to unarm us.

  Yeah no worries Sailor, not really looking for stats, just coming up with some arguments. I know stats can be interpreted to make anything look good or bad.

  Oh silly me, here I am thinking that a theif who breaks into a house would break into a gun cabinet... Of course, they would just look at the pretty safe and not touch it!

  Sailor Ripley, let me do some research and get back to you. But just wondering when the last time you heard of someone dying at the hand of someone yeilding a stick was... In my job Ive been to quite a few shootings, never been to a sticking though.

  Stephanus, Im really sorry for your loss mate, but surely if something could be rounded up or disarmed to prevent it from happening again you would do everything in your power to make that happen.

  jstalin, what happens when that home of yours gets broken into and you're not home? The guns get stolen and another 6 guns become available for sale on the black market...

  I think the parents who have lost children; the families that have lost members; and the friends who have lost mates would love an answer...
