i bet some still carry them.
you all know what i'm talking about; there were at least 3 brothers in the congregation that had one.
thank god my father wasn't one of them.
we had an elder in our congregation who inherited his briefcase from his father. It was revolting! it was this old fashioned briefcase sort of triangle in shape and it was fur! and it was all mangy due to its age. and bits of it was always falling out....
Misspeaches you crack me up, I think I know who's bag you are referring to... Did you once housesit for that family? I know I have seen that bag!
I remember one sister had a leather bag, it had "Jehovah Is My God" emblazened in gold lettering on the side, crazy ol loon!
personally, i like them here.
they provide themselves a purpose to make lurkers question the "apostates".
that's fair, imho.
has anyone else noticed that we're on an apostate website and the page we are currently up to is 5(666)?
any relevance?
are we now under the control of the dark lord?
last sunday was the first time i went through this but it has since happened a few more times.
when i woke up last sunday morning, i had this feeling that i was going to die.
i don't know why i felt this way but i couldn't shake the feeling of dread.
Hey wildhorses,
If it was a panic attack they are, as lil says, really awful things. They're normally accompanied by sweating, hyperventilation (rapid breathing), this can in turn bring on chest pain, and a rapid, bounding heart rate. Is that how you felt that morning? Normally there are a number of things that can trigger an attack, and very often they are extremely hard to control. The best way is to concentrate on your breathing and try to get it back to a normal rate which is 12 - 18 breaths/minute. Its tough, because even though you are breathing normally, during the attack it feels like you can't breathe at all.
Without being able to see you and not knowing your medical history, its tough to say exactly what else, if anything, might be going on. Worst case scenario is that you were having some type of cardiac event which self reverted. Heart problems can cause you to have this feeling of impending doom, so definately get it checked out, and if it happens again, might be worth calling an ambulance to get yourself checked over while the episode is happening.
Hope this helps, take care,
Jason.
ive just worked 40 days without a day off, on a boat with the same 26 people, and was meant to finish my rotation this wednesday to have 6 weeks off.
i have found out that my replacement isnt showing up and that i now have to work for at least another week.
i had plans to meet up with my significant other in thailand for 6 days on my way home to australia, now those plans are shot.
I take it that you work on a fishing boat.
Im actually the medic on a seismic vessel, there are no other medics in my company that are available to come out to take over. The contract states there needs to be a medic on board at all times so if I insist on going, the operation will shut down. The gas and oil bosses wouldnt be happy!!

A further week isnt even all that long, but when you've been stuck at sea for 6 weeks, an extra week feels like a life time!
Im so pissed off that there is no one to take over from me, and while the rest of the crew goes home to their respective countries, I stand and wave them goodbye.
Anyway, just needed to vent to someone...

I havent had a beer now for 40 days and this topic comes up! You guys are killing me. Im gagging for beer I dont care what sort of beer. I especially like that Hoegaarden White Beer (Belgian), also Carlton Crown (Aussie), most bitters, lagers, ales... Actually I dont go much on Carlesberg, reckon it tastes a bit like elephants piss, although the state Im in at the moment if I had some elephants piss I'd probably drink that if it reminded me of beer.
Seriously, the only drinking problem I have is that I cant get any for another week.
