  how many of you have armed themselves?

  i recently bought a high powered rifle and am presently buying a pistol for back-up.

  i have a cross bow, a compound bow, and several swords and knives, in fact i have been collecting knives for some time and have learned how to use them in defending myself and in taking the initiative in learning to defend myself.

  i am quite versed in using both the croww bow and the compound bow, it seems the goverment doesn't want to defend us and just wants to unarm us.

  Americas complete fascination with guns astounds me. I feel kinda sorry for you guys that you feel it so necessary to carry them, have them in your homes, cars and handbags. When I was there last year I stayed with a mate in Wisconsin who had several armed guns lying around his house and wouldnt hesitate to use them if someone threatened him. No wonder there are so many gun related deaths in the US.

  Then you look at somewhere like the Uk, where not even the general duty police carry guns and the mortality rate there is insignificant in comparison to the US.

  My mate in Wisconsin is a police officer there, and when I told him the cops in Australia arent allowed to take their weapon home with them, his response was, "well why not? Dont they trust them enough to let them take guns home"? Ludicrous!!!

  Obviously theres no easy answer to the whole gun issue in the states, but i think if half the people who owned guns worked for a night in an emergency room at a hospital, they would think twice about owning or using one.

  Did you have the perfect JW family?

  just wondering... how many of us had the perfect jw family?.

  by that i mean, never in trouble with the elders, no loss of restrictions, no disphellowshippings, disassociatings, fadings, reproof - public or private.. of course most of us fit one of these categories.

  what about any other families in your congregations?

  All my dad wanted in life was to have the perfect JW family... Instead he got a couple of faders, a child that ended up in gaol, a few children that have been disfellowshipped a number of times... I feel really sad for him! He wonders where he went wrong!

  WBTS Owning stocks in cigarette giant?

  it was stated in a previous post that the wbts owns stocks in tabacco giant phillip morris.

  does anyone know this for fact?

  i would have thought being a not for profit organisation, trading in stocks and bonds would not be allowed.. thoughts?

  i would have thought being a not for profit organisation, trading in stocks and bonds would not be allowed.. thoughts?

  I wouldnt have thought not for profit organisations would be allowed to deal in stocks and shares. Im pretty sure the whole not-for-profit category would prevent that one.

  The REAL REASON JW's refuse blood

  but they don't realize that what the bible says about blood is not the real reason why they refuse blood transfusions.

  therefore what the bible says at matthew 24:34 is not the real reason they believed it.

  here too the real reason will only show up if the society ever changes what it teaches about blood transfusions.

  jehovah`s-witness`s are a large organization,how often have you heard that?..is it true?..there are 2billion christians on the planet.1billion of them are catholic..there are only 6million jehovah`s-witness`s worldwide..thats 0.003 of a pecentage point..so are jehovah`s-witness`s a large organization?..no,but they could be considered a boil on the buttocks of christianity...outlaw

  Sorry to be a bit naive, but has the ruling on blood changed recently that they can now receive fractions of blood, or has it always been that way?

  Maybe I should have listened at times in the meetings?!

  Outlaw, I do tend to agree with what you are saying, they do see themselves as much bigger than they really are. Perhaps if the JWs had been around as long as Catholicism, they would be up there on the numbers. I realise though that you are saying they shouldnt even compare themselves.

  All I really remember them saying in the meetings was that they were growing at a much faster rate than the likes of the Catholic Church, I didnt really remember them saying that they were in the same category. It may very well have been said on a number of accasions, I tended to only hear about .003% of what was being said when I was forced to the meetings as a child!!
