  Sherri Shepard EXJW On "The View"

  i am watching this program....and sherri shepard just said she was raised as a jw and how strict their beliefs were.

  she was asked what jws believe---and she answered that they teach that when jesus comes back to destroy the earth, that only jws will be allowed to live on the new earth that will be made.. she also said how she hated going out on saturday mornings to knock on doors, and that it was tough when her father got disassociated (she had to stop and explain what that meant) and that she could no longer talk to him.. a lot of women (who are at home :o) watch this show.....and i am applauding her saying this so all who are watching this will hear these two points and remeber them the next time jws call at their houses!.

  facts that only jws will be saved when jesus comes back---and jws told not to speak to those who leave or are kicked out of the religion.....two great points to be aired like this on national tv!.

  It's a bit disappointing that those comments did not air on the West Coast or Hawaii. But the East coast has by far the most viewers.

  the fool has said in his heart there is no "god" how can this?

  why do non-believers jump to such a conclusion?

  i have notice many former witnesses have lost faith in god because of a a "religion" who didnt measure up to what it claims.

  How I handled Child Abuse cases when I was an Elder (1996-2006)

  hey ya'll.

  i know there is a lot of buzz due to the nbc story.

  i thought i'd share my experience as an elder dealing with abuse.. i attended 23 different congregations in my life and served as an elder or ms in 9 of them.

  If my son our daughter claimed some brother abused them, I would definitely sit them down, discuss what exactly happened and be able to get to the bottom of whether such allegations were true in my own mind.
  
  
  If I were convinced that this person molested my child, I would go to that person first, the elders second and the authorities third. Though I say this after being out for almost two years. If I was still IN, and especially still an elder, I may very well keep it in-house to protect Jehovah's and the congregations reputation... and sadly this is what happens today. Such a mindset is what happens, IMO, when one fully believes that God has chosen the WT Society exclusively. As most JW's believe because this is what they hear again and again at meetings, literature, experiences, conventions etc.
  
  
  If the elder body determined there was no case due to the lack of a second witness, and yet I was certain that my child was telling the truth, I would definitely tell other families about what happened to warn them.

  a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.

  this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.

  in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.

  There was a ton of coverage in the UK on the JW blood issue the last couple of weeks due to that 22 year old mother needlessly dying after childbirth and leaving twin infants along with a husband behind.
