**So, they were telling me that a one night stand is more forgiveable in the eyes of Jehovah than a long term respectable relationship resulting in marriage. ; ;
Am I way off here or is this really stupid thinking on their part?**
Isn't it??
No sex with your supposed life partner, the mother/father of your possible children, your mate. BAD BAD!...but taking home that hotpants from the bar after too much whiskey is forgiveable.

I couldn't believe what I heard
by snarf ini posted last week about wanting ideas to bring up for a visit from my old teacher and her elder husband.
the visit went awesome, they only managed to stay for 3 1/2 hours then made up a lame excuse and bolted out of here as fast as they could.
i am very grateful for the responses i recieved, although we never made it to those issues, i didn't get a chance.

No to soaps.
by Moomin induring the time leading up to my baptism and even more so afterwards, my study conductor and her friend were always telling me how i shouldn't be watching the soaps.
(i had mentioned to them at some point how i enjoy watching emmerdale and coronation street).
they described them as being unwholesome and encouraging of immoral ways.

I was raised with the same 'soaps are evil' mentality. I knew a lot of jw that watched them, even pioneers. It was a 'do as I say not as I do' issue, (like most jw issues.)
My big thing was the 'R' rated movies. We were constantly warned at meetings, watchtowers and assemblies to resist the temptation, but I knew so many people including elders and their bratty kids who watched them on a regular basis.
Just one of the many things I missed out on because some pig-headed man said so.

Has Anyone, or, How Many Have Written to WTS...what was the response?
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit ini wrote for the first time 5 months ago.
one of my sisters, a hoho, was married 27 years to an ms who has abused her mentally, emotionally, physically, and this was well-known to most everyone who knew them including family.
when she filed for divorce, i heard that our parents, other family and ex-friends yelled at and criticized her, and then the elders called her into a meeting and condemned her, i was furious.

**We found that any type of correspondence with NY was futile and a waste of our precious time and energy**
I wrote a couple letters to the bosses a few years ago. My responses were pretty much the same. I was lying and rebellious. I had no proof. I had no rights. Don't ask questions. They suggested I find myself an older sister to study with me (never mind I was raised nazi style in this crap). I was also told to pray and go in field service more, as this would help my spirituality. -

Remember the Written Review
by 30girl inwhat exactly was the purpose of the written review?
it was extremely helpful that the society warned you on the calendars which night you had to skip... we had those boards that they passed out so you had a good writing surface, often covered with witness grafiti like, jesus or jehovah or something biblical.
remember the little grading sheet on the back; excellent, very good, good -- was there a poor?

WOW. I forgot all about those stupid tests. I loved them because it gave us a break from the usual hum drum bs spewing off the stage. My sis and I would fill in the blanks with 'inappropriate' answers.

I have heard the "sister and two men 'angels'" story and "the kidnapper stealing a bible story book" story, both told with gushiong passion and praise to Jehovah. I always thought they were a bunch of pooey. How did god choose who to save? Maybe he has a max per day. He never saved me from anything.

Invite your JW relatives to your 'worldly' wedding
by Honesty inthis from a pro-jw website:.
non jw bride-to-be:.
i recently learned that my jw grandmother and dad's jw family will not be attending the wedding portion of my wedding because it is a church of another faith.

Gross...Can't they get their bloated heads out of their ass for one second??
JW#2 especially.
I married my now ex hub seven years ago. All of my JW fam was invited. I was married on the front lawn of an old mansion by a Justice of the Peace, and had a big Italian dinner inside following. Everyone of my fam was set to come, until a week before. I called my mom to ask a question about seating and she informed me that they had thought and prayed and decided that it would look bad to attend this wedding. That meant everyone. So...I'm not a jw anymore, you still talk to me, want me to visit, want to be part of my life... blah, blah blah...but the second something isn't going in your favor you pull the Society card out.
Ironically, my mom and step-dad went to his 'wordly' brother's wedding a week later. IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
