Feeling a little weird today
by Bucholz inhello everybody, so i've been out of the wt for almost a year now.
i did go to the memorial last year, but that was pretty much the last meeting i attended.
thing is, as a born-in, i have never missed one, this will be the first.. don't get me wrong, i have absolutely no desire to go back, but after all these years there's a weird feeling about it.

As born-ins, we have given "the Memorial" its power. It is natural to feel weird about not going.
Think about where you want your life to go. Where does going to the memorial fit in? Will it help you on your journey to create a new life?
It will loses its power over time as you place your focus on other things.
All the best.

So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?
by garyneal inafter the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.
" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.
evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

When I've brought up the overlapping definition, I get a groan and a look of embarrassment.
As well they should hanging on to that crap.

It's such a terrible disconnect from humanity, like what Nancy Drew said.
My old congo is in a beach community with some areas with canals. They homes are not maybe mansions by some people's standards, but they are beautiful and desireable. This subject was always discussed when working that territory.
People mean nothing to this organization. They teach their people how to think about others...they've done a great job.

Quest for fire
by designs inresearchers from several universities have been conducting studies on the earliest use of controlled fire by our human ancestors.
based in south africa at the wonderwerk cave they believe evidence shows that around 400,000 years ago either neanderthals, homo sapiens or homo erectus were able to cook foods which led to the advancement in brain and body shape, birth and population.
of course we remember the fred franz lessons on genesis and his theory and belief that humans, adam and eve, are 6000 years old and already at a few days old they saw swords and fire on full display for the 1st time..

"Do you still feel Jehovah is directing the Organization?"
by outsmartthesystem infor those of you with experience being asked this question.....or those of you that are/were elders........ what would happen if you responded to that question by saying "i don't know"?.
what would happen if you responded with "i choose not to answer that question."?
and then when they ask why, you say "because i wish to invoke my 5th amendment rights".

I agree with undercover. Do and say what is in your best interest for your goal. If you have to keep relationships in peace or at bay for now, then appease the inquirers.
Some of the things I would say, especially in the early years of separating myself from the org:
"My feelings are really not important/personal/between me and Jehovah. As I have been instructed, I continue to give all things in my life prayerful consideration and wait on Jehovah."
