this was an amazing wonderful, peaceful, giving man who never met a strager who is now deceased and you are taking his name and running all over the place with it using it for your own agendas.

I understand the high highs and the low lows of dear friends with bipolar. The ever present conversation of suicide, along with some of the happiest times I can remember. It's exhausting... He was so lucky to have your family as friends. So very lucky.
Whatever help we can be or do for you, we are here. Don't forget the great number of people here who "get it." We are all crying with you.

this has been a lousy weekend!
in july 2009 my 20 year old nephew, ryan, died of complications from heroin and his best friend jeff neville spoke at the funeral.
he gave a very emotional talk and said that he was going to work at getting off the stuff himself.
So sorry for your loss Donny.
A terrible week indeed.
i didn't know eric particularly well, and i feel terrible that i didn't reach out to him more or try to help him while i still had the opportunity.. i feel extremely helpless, but the least i can do is help others remember him who knew him better.. here is a video i've uploaded to youtube in his honor.... .

i suggested a handwritten note, on behalf of the whole community here, flowers, and perhaps a donation to a charity that helps people get back on their feet.

I personally don't think the family will read the cards either. But they cannot deny the fact they were sent, and if they toss them, they can just live with that act the rest of their lives, along with the painful memory of what happened to Eric.
I was thinking it more of a show of love to his children, and I believe his sister was df, not pos about that.

My thoughts are on the line of Outlaw's. what if the family received a thousand sympathy cards. With their cognitive dissonance, they may not change. But it would be a great visual testament to everybody, the mailman, the neighbors...maybe even mail to his work address, wife, parent Kingdom Hall.
Just thinking out loud.
