  Have You Prepared For The "Flu" And Do You Get A Flu Shot?

  i try to keep my hands clean regularly and stay away from areas and people that i know are sick.. i have never gotten a flu shot and i do know that many that do get one, get the flu anyway.. still, the flu is considered very very bad this year..

  I've been thinking about this very thing.

  I have never had a flu shot and I am old. I don't get the flu, and rarely sick. But everytime a season hits like this I worry.

  I still don't know what to do. A co-worker just went to Walgreens to get one since he is flying to NY today.

  i have had to make some very difficult decisions in recent days.

  in one way i feel good about takeing care of myself and my mother who is on her dead bed in the room next to me.

  mom has live with me since 2005 and started to make her journey to the other side on christmas day.

  I wish you strength and peace as you go through this situation, with you mom and JW family. As the caretaker, as has been said throughout this thread, you have every right to set some parameters. It's really strange at first to see a loved one off, a whole range of emotions and memories flood through our brains. But I have come to realize it is a privilege since going through this with my mother. Concentrate on your mom, and the actions to take with others will become clear.

  Weird "new world" artwork from the 2013 calendar

  my mother-in-law has a strange obsession with calendars, and orders the society's calendar each year.

  this year's calendar is especially weird.

  it features images depicting future events - in particular, the society's vision of the new world order.. i've taken the opportunity to scan some of the images for you all to check out.. please note - there are captions for each of the images, but i don't have the english language version of the calendar so i'd rather just quote the scripture used so as not to reveal which country i'm in.. .

  can someone please help me find or direct me to the quote from the wt/or thread, (i believe it was the summer of 2011), where they specifically counseled against associating with those who stopped attending meetings.

  i am trying to find it but can't come up with the right combination of search words.. thank you very much in advance..

  Me neither Amelia. I was talking to a JW gf, Wed, using the word "shun" for my JW family and former friends. She said she honestly never thought of it as shunning before. She did tell me for the first time that "everybody" asks about me. She knew how my PO brother was making an effort to be in touch after our mother passed, then distanced himself again after what I think was an article in the WT.

  Tonight when I get home I'll look for the posts around that time. I seem to remember a lot of discussion about it.
