please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

I hear you troubled mind. I'm not df'd/. I ran into an elder (not my hall) at the market, and he froze then looked past me like I was invisible. You forget for a second that people actually choose to do that...it's not human...and I tell everybody I know about how they act.

I have 7 family members with no regular contact. My brother (COBE), when my mother died, told me he would keep the communication open even though other families would not. But since they have been cracking down on the inactive ones, I haven't communicated in a couple of years.

My heart goes out to the parents and children especially. I know it's the cult mind, it explains so much. But still...how can they do it? I know somebody will die sometime soon, and I'll be at the memorial, and I cannot wait to give a few people a piece of my mind.

really the whole thing is ludicrious but it is hilarious and sad at the same time to see grown people arguing about weather there will be cars, planes, eat meat, what about fish, etc in a place as imaginary as oz, yet to them it is reality.. the teaching of a paradise earth was so illogical it really was the first thing that started me on the path to waking up.

just the thought that someone could greet their beloved spouse who had died only to come to the realization that they could never be together again struck me as so cruel, i didnt want to live there even if it was all true.. i have heard jws say they think we might be able to fly, read minds since we will be able to use 100% and some seem to think life would be an endless vacation, with modern conveniences with no thought to all the processes and work that goes into something simple like a pencil.

i love the article jwfacts has on the flaws of any theory or teaching of paradise earth.. what are some things you have heard discussed/argued in car groups, gatherings etc when you were in?.

True, they would be the point. Although some of the JWs I know are entirely annoyed with the whole GB thing and don't want to even discuss them. They had respect and affection for all the dead ones. The new group don't have what the old group had.

I think I will save the article. It would be good to share.

Tal, we could all use a bit of Judge Judy right about now. I'd love to hear her take on recent events here, lol. Sounds like the media, some news programs would be a good idea. I hope you found some relief tonight. Xx

I'm sorry for your pain ((LisaRose)). My best friend has fibro that was controlled for about 10 years or so. Just this last year she is beside herself in pain for days and days on end. I feel helpless.

The Small Quiet Voice

I love the small quiet voice. I was thinking as I read through the posts, one of the "loudest" quiet voices came to me the day I left the JW's. Nothing was premeditated, never considered in a million years I would never be JW. But listening to the comments during a WT study no different than any other WT study, suddenly a voice in my head that was so loud it seemed audible, said to me "you don't belong here. they don't want you here. you will never be good enough." The reprecussions of what that would mean for me flashed through my mind just like the seconds before death they say your life does. It didn't matter to me strangely. That was my last meeting, I never went back.

The small quiet voice is powerful and usually right I have found.
