I knew this couple my whole life and we ended up together in my last congregation, Helen always said she couldn't live without Les. He fell and broke his neck a few years ago and actually recovered. She was a beauty full of quiet grace, and he was the kindest man with a giggle every time he saw you.
It is as it should be. RIP Les and Helen.

Jehovah's Witnesses calling us "mentally diseased" hits Danish media

Nice.
If JW's want to stay away from apostates why don't they just so and do it. The adding of the name calling, mentally diseased etc., takes it to another level meant to demean and punish the ones who left the org and to instill fear of them.
A$$holes. What they say and put in print will follow them around forever...thankfully.

What's the weirdest health advice given by a JW?

A "prominent" elder's wife got into a carrot juicing kick, and soon the skin of a substantial amount of people started turning orange. It was hilarious.
She also gave a book to another sister to talk her out of having a hysterectomy. The sister got so mad she made me give the book back to the elder's wife.
There are plenty more wacky things through the years...

The experience that changed my life
by hijosdelawatch ini have been lurking for a long time here and i think i'm prepared to speak about this experience openly.. .
i was born in a jw family and i grew up as the average jehovah's witness does.
even being very young, i helped with the territories and other work in the congregation.

Welcome higosdelawatch! Wow, what a story! So glad you have your mother with you, and how brave to do what you did. I'm not sure what I would have been so strong.
We look forward to your posts.

Do you remember your Baptism Talk?
by bildad indo you remember anything from your baptism talk or the brother who gave it?.
-
Dagney
Don't remember it, but Ted Jaracz gave it. He was our CO or DO, forget which. His wife came on my studies a few times. My mom had me study separately with another sister from the hall when the "Truth" book came out. And this sister was famous for getting people baptized at every assembly or she dropped them. There was a lot of pressure and I caved. I was 12.

Remarkably stupid point in this week's Jeremiah book study - Jehovah's loving kindness
by sir82 inthe whole jeremiah book is an abomination, but a point in this week's study exceeded even its usual standards of inanity.. from page 144, paragraph 10:.
in our day, god continues to show loving-kindness in ways that directly benefit his worshippers.
consider the matter of prayer.

I love it when JW's tell you what god/Jehovah, "feels, wants, likes, loves, hates, 'takes note of,' 'pays special attention to..." Such a fantastic delusional story.
UGH...the wording...how do they keep putting up with it?
