so, being that it is 2013, i recall that it was 50 years ago, that the "around the world assemblies" were held.
for those of us who lived in southern california, the first week of september was when we had the assembly, and it was held at the rose bowl in pasadena.
yep, the rose bowl, with no seats, per se, but just those hard benches as seats.
Indeed it was d. Wasn't there like Hells Angels sitting behind us?
Anyhoo, I'm still ascared of those oleander bushes.

Remember the ethnic food stands? It was very cool. Even at the Lamert Park assembly hall, the French contingency would serve additional French food. Hollywood Park was also a great venue.

Oy, the prayers!!!! Freddie's were known to last 20 minutes...he just went on and on and on.
i admit that i do enjoy it, especially with my grandkids.
birthdays, too.. i believe we missed out on a lot of fun and normal activities because we were witnesses..
I'm still not 100% comfortable, but I do enjoy it immensely. My work surprised me this year and I was sooo embarrassed for the fuss. My family threw me my very first party in my whole life last month, and that was quite fun. But truthfully, I enjoy the doing it for others more. It's so fun. I remember arguing about celebrating birthdays when I was a JW, and one guy told me, "it's not that we don't think about others throughout the year, but birthdays give you the opportunity to make it special and to think about the person even more." He was right.
I LOVE Xmas. Even when I was a JW I loved the shiny sparkly-ness of it all. The families and friends getting together. I just love it.

I was at Pasadena, 8yrs old. Wasn't there a parade of international delegates in native attire? I seem to remember that, could be wrong. I do remember being intrigued seeing Japanese delegates in full kimonos. Now I think, "how did they survive in those outfits in the heat?" I remember sitting outside the stadium trying to find shade. And the big announcement "BEWARE OF THE OLEANDER BUSHES! THEY ARE POISONIOUS!" Never forgot that...lol.
Jim TX :( wow.
Have since been to the Rose Bowl for tailgating at UCLA games, antique fairs, and my first Rolling Stones concert. (nods to designs.) Those were much more fun.
Oh...and I remember those clamp on seats. Actually those times were really fun.
just wondering.
i think i ended up tuning in during the second season but soon became hooked.
it was interesting seeing the repeats of the whole seasons leading up to the season premiere two weeks ago.. any other fans out there in xdubbyland?
Anybody as ridiculously addicted as I am? As thoroughly amazed at the complexities and quality of the performances?
Any thoughts on how it is going to play out?

@cantleave: We look forward to it.
a jw wrote the following in an attempt to discredit the evidence provided by vat 4956. comments on the author's logic would be appreciated.
does vat 4956 prove 587?.
many point to vat 4956 as proof that jerusalem was desolated in 587bce.
Go git em Ann!! xx
