I'm wondering if it will backfire as well. Not in a big boom, but definitely a plop in some thinking JW's. Focus on the the website, it's all "God" not Jehovah...which has been their BIG distinguishing factor (in their eyes) for decades. If it hasn't sunk in yet, this tract is an eye opener.
Although, it seems to be a easier JW time. Fewer meetings, fewer hours, contact with individuals in the field is no longer required...just stand by your trolley, simple literature. More time for social and personal activities and still be in good standing...may keep people drinking the Kool-aid for years.
Dunno. Love to hear honest opinions from a JW of this new era.

Wow!!! No pictures of buildings falling and people screaming and running? No Armageddon? That's a new take.
The preaching/witnessing is taken out of their hands...wow.
Looks like they are play the "now" card for issues...not painting a future panda picture...which I actually got a person baptised based on that one tract.
I think it's a horrible tract. The cell phone is the focus on the cover.
Wonder what current JW's think about this? Wow.

What is the key to free yourself from the Organization?
by suavojr inthey key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.
their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.
there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.

It could be one thing or a hundred things, but ultimately it is the decision that you will not give them one more minute of your life. Once you decide that, you are free.

The List, by "Prominent Bethelite"
by morloc ini occasionally pop through here to catch up on the latest, but this time i'm going to pop my own post on here.. some of you internet oldsters may even remember this.
my first experience on the internet regarding discussions about jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower took place on a now-obscure usenet group, before i eventually stumbled across hourglass2.. during those days, there was a poster who went by the name "prominent bethelite," an otherwise anonymous individual whom i remember most for an extensive, exhaustive compilation of date-oriented remarks, predictions, and expectations by the watchtower organization down through the decades of its history.. it became known as "the list" and it's definitely lengthy... but a fascination look at the abundance of errant statements made through the watchtower's history.. if you're curious, it's been available for a long time on hourglass2's site, and can be seen using the link provided below.. the list, compiled by prominent bethelite (1999).
that's about it for this stop through here.

What surprising reactions have you experienced from family and friends?
by cultBgone inmusing over several rather eye-opening reactions i've recently experienced has made me wonder what others have been told that made them go...wow.. my earliest was a family member upset with me for not attending meetings who exclaimed, "but you're going to die at armageddon!
" i told them that wasn't true because the bible says that god is love and he doesn't work that way.
they were very angry with me!

I just learned last weekend that a number of people thought I faded because I was "keeping company" with a "worldly" boyfriend.
It couldn't POSSIBLY be because of the religion!

JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?
by KateWild ini saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.
they were not actively approaching anyone.
what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

Definitely what cofty said. I'll have to think of what to say. It's great because they can't walk away.
I saw a stand for the first time myself yesterday while at lunch. I driving past the shopping mall where we had lunch, and there were 2 older seesters on the street sidewalk, positioned at the traffic light at the driveway entrance. I would say very little foot traffic, most would be walking on the mall property not on the external street. They looked really jazzed to be there.
I was wondering, what to loyal active JW's think of this "arrangement?" Can anyone get a cart and get "their time in?"
