Looking back to what happened since sept 2012... i must say its brilliant !

who thought in the early months of 2012 that such a rebranding would take place in only a matter of 24 months?.

they managed to go from an antique looking and boring website (watchtower.org) with hardly any attractive content to go to a fresh looking new website with stuff for everyone, families, children, teenagers.. movies, and short videos about almost everything and new ones added every month.

cartoons, animation video's , interviews, picture activities all kind of projects, many audio files like dramatic bible readings, dramas and music, online research tools, new brochures for kids (off and online) etc.

insidetheKH, we appreciate the fact that you are quite proud of the recent accomplishments by the WBTS. However, honestly, like jwfacts said, these acheivements can be accomplished quite quickly and thoroughly today. A video can go viral around the world in a matter of minutes. Building a studio, buying equiment, creating a logo...there is nothing new or special or needing of a divine hand to accomplish.

I think most people will agree it's about time some modernization is implemented by the WBTS corporation. I think more importantly what most find more critical is the message. The jw.org message is neither inviting or comforting to outsiders. The message of a soon to be paradise earth is 100+years overdue. The message of divine exclusivity is laughable to most. Lowering pioneer hours and counting RBC work hours do not represent a true picture of the preaching work, and the restructuring of meetings keep attendance numbers inflated.

I hope you stick around and read more discussions here with an open and honest mind.

TV.JW.Org - Streamed to KHs via the New Projectors

i read here recently that the khs are being instructed to buy and install projector systems.. now that we've seen the launch of of tv.jw.org we can fully expect public talks to - on a monthly basis at least - be replaced by content streamed from the site to the screens in khs.. .

It makes total sense. And after the positive reception last year for the televised annual meeting, it's a great way to keep the faithful who love this stuff engaged. They got so excited to see the GB televised! Smart move for them.

i tried to, out of curiosity, watch tv.jw.org this morning.

i barely could stand to make it seven minutes before i had to quit.. of course there were at least two, maybe three mentions in that short time of the expense incurred and the subtle begging for money to "support" the televangelism effort.

a time lapse video showed the construction of the tv set.

Well. I could only watch a few minutes. Interesting choice to be the first guy on the show. Yikes. I felt like he was talking slooooowwwww...

What is funny, and what I try to point out to JW's is working on project and accomplishing a goal is not exclusive to JW's for pete's sakes! They act like whenever they do anything they are the only ones that have ever successfully done it!

It's a very slick studio...interesting path. It makes sense to modernize...that was long over due. But then again...we all weren't suppose to be here...we were supposed to be weaving our own clothes or bird fodder by now. But as slick and pretty as this all is...the message has not changed one iota. It is as harsh and punitive as ever. Lipstick...pig.

can anyone verify the new "basic pioneer" rumor?

so it's rumored started by one member that there is a new pioneer rank called basic pioneer, announced at annual meeting.

can anyone verify this is true?

everything else presented at the meeting has been verified except this.

The email I received with the meeting highlights, (from former Bethelites), said there is a "basic pioneer" and details would be forthcoming.

i just got a job teaching in a school run by moderate muslims.

the students are muslim and do their prayers at school and have daily quran lessons.

my job is to teach art, english literacy and literature, and history.

Yes. As if you missed one meeting and you didn't learn where the next meeting was going to be held "during the persecution," then too bad for you. You deserve eternal destruction.

I agree...just wow.

On the other hand...good job WBTS for keeping up the craziness! And you are watching the History Channel and highlighted 2 - 3 events out of thousands that happened that year! Don't get me started about the striking mine workers that fought for better working conditions which eventually were implemented...events that all working people benefit from today.

Wow.
