  Rutherford's last book "Children" 1941- Advice DONT HAVE KIDS...Where it all started!

  watchtower 1941 sept. 15 p.283, 288 "in front of the convention platform the children recieving there free gift (copy) not as a play thing but as the lords instrument for the work in the remaining months before armagedon..." so what lovely message did the kids get from judge rutherford?

  children 1941page 281 "no children were taken onto noah's ark...it is proper to wait until after armagedon to have children...its only afew more years till armagedon..." the book concluded.

  "(john and his girlfriend talk) ...armagedon is surely near our hope is within afew years our marriage will be consumated and we will have sweet children...we will defer marriage and pioneer ...we will not see each other for a time.." thats why i dont have kids it all started with this fools book!.

  Yet, it is noteworthy that he pronounced "woe" on pregnant women or those nursing a baby when tribulation came on Jerusalem in 66-70 C.E. That time would be especially difficult for them, given their situation.

  I remember a DC when these words echoed through the stadium...probably in the 80's. I felt so sorry for those poor pregnant sisters or those trying to manage fussy children in 100+ degree stifling heat. It seemed like the crowd looked at them like they were wearing a giant scarlet letter.

  Now Jehober has provided cartoons for the children he loves so much. Hopefully they enjoy the cartoons because if they don't, they will not be Jehober's friend and they are going to fall with their bikes and puppies into a giant canyon during the "great day of armageddon."

  Yep, 3rdgen. (waves ) My sister was 3 I think, and she was with the crowd of kids getting her book. She has no good JW childhood memories. Long days in FS, even going alone from door to door very very young.

  It was a dark time. It was so frowned upon to get pregnant. My mom just barely told me before she died that my father wanted her to get an abortion but she couldn't do it. Such a cruel phoney religion. Like they really care about kids now because they have cartoons. The same hateful message to them but in a modern format.

  Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?

  a poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.

  break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.

  the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

  Tal None such things happened to me. My dad was an angry alcoholic with a trigger temper, but I got his better years. My other sibs did not. And I was a late in life baby raised almost like an only child, so not hard to manage. My heart goes out to the kids from families that forced an abnormal military lifestyle demanding perfection. We don't forget our childhoods.

  Finally Free!!!

  my wife and i are finally free of this horrible cult we will be leaving the south east for the north western part of the us to start anew!!!

  our friends and family have no idea of our new beliefs and feelings on the cult so it should be a nice clean break!

  hope to connect with some in that area pm me if you'd like.. .

  People never mattered to the WBTS, and especially children. Now I quite like the idea of "Sunday School" for kids where there is freedom in learning. I have a friend with two autistic children and I shudder to think what their life would be like taking their kids to meeting at the KH. Now the kids look forward to the routine in the Sunday School area and the parents have a break. My mother told me when I was a kid I used to "play meeting" and line up the dolls and proceed to beat the crap out of them. She told me she cringed knowing that was my take-away of "going to the meeting" at 4-5 yrs.

  Ann beat me to it. I remember ice cream during the break also. No morning meetings because we went in service of course! like Gregor said, those afternoon meetings were long and difficult to keep awake during.

  we know russell, rutherford franz and knorr wer kooky but joseph smith takes the cake.. the salt lake tribune of all newspapers has run an article on the lds founder's 33 wives, most of whom were teenagers.. http://www.sltrib.com/news/173364-155/plural-smith-joseph-marriage-lds-says.

  would you stay an lds after knowing this, how would you rationalize staying with this knowledge.. .

  I think people that need religion can justify anything about their religion. They need to be "special," have "inside knowledge." It doesn't matter to them how outlandish certain behavior is or how crazy the dogma. They have faith. The 33 wives were part of a grand scheme they have the privilege to be a part of. Works for them.

  boy is it a new day.. did anyone ever find out who the pr firm or inside person with this vision for the wbts?.

  Yes. Absolutely. Of course Jah was waiting for the perfect moment to wage the internet war...after they have lost about 2-3 million people already.

  I can see the happy-dappy-ness of a loyal looking around iTunes and voila! Jah must have made electricity, Steve Jobs, computers, internet just for WBTS!

  They will never win this battle. The apostate army is too diverse and established.

  Boy is it a new day.

  Did anyone ever find out who the PR firm or inside person with this vision for the WBTS?

  Edited to add: The podcasts were for the WT study and issues of the WT and Awake, and in numerous languages.
