  No more printing of WT and Awake in my country.. Shit just got real

  guys .

  a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.

  i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

  IMHO, this is a long time overdue. There was/is very little interest in the mags. Only my elderly mother looked forward to the next issues. The magazines were stacked high in closets and basements all over the world. The importance of the WT's "flagship" magazines was only in the minds of the FDS & Co. Any business minded person could tell it was a tremendous waste of resources in the modern world.

  The last few years I was in I only used the 4 pg brochure at the door. They were timely, simple and evoked conversation from those interested in pursuing a Bible discussion.

  Couldn't take it anymore.

  so i decided yesterday to give my wife's full disclosure.

  not sure it was the best decision considering she holds very firmly to the resurrection hope so we can see our babies again.. anyways she is agreeable to begin a study to find a better truth.

  where is a good place to go to get some good reliable biblical info on the web that we can consider together?.

  I used the New Jerusalem Bible a few years before I left; brought it to all the meetings. It has great footnotes, a timeline, history introduction into the following books so you knew what the heck was going on.

  And I used it after I left of course. I was quite lost when I stopped going, and I began reading the NT. What a difference without the WT literature and stupid "All Scriptures" book.

  i was sitting at the recent circuit assembly that i attended, (the things i do for sis blues) and the baptism talk was under way .

  i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !

  i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?

  i didn't know what to expect but i was really excited to be invited to accompany my daughter and her closest friends to a large (300+) party held at a famous hot spot.

  I have yet to go to a Halloween party or dress up. But I love the spirit of it all.

  It seems like it's a really small world with regards to ex members of cult/high control groups doesn't it? The fun people are out!!! You meet them doing fun things!

  About 'Regular' Pioneers

  now that district overseers have been deleted, now that bethelites are being devalued and increasingly dismissed, now that special pioneers are being deleted in u.s., and maybe elsewhere gradually.

  who would have ever thought?.

  yet, now what is the value to be a regular pioneer to the org?

  The only crumb of recognition the society provides is "pioneer" at the congregation level...excluding servants of course. And they wear that "pioneer" badge proudly. And the pioneers up the overall numbers for the org.

  How was it for you when you had to shun someone?

  i remember a good friend when i was in and active who was d'fd.

  when he started coming back, for me at that time is was gut-wrenching not to say 'hello' or at the very least encourage him to continue.

  i thought even at this time, does this act of shunning really effective?

  It was terrible.

  The last 20 years or so I greeted DF'd ones who came to the meeting and told them it was good to see them. One time I saw somebody at an amusement park and I treated them like they were invisible. To this day I feel horrible about it. Told myself "never again", and never did.
