  JWs in denial, so sad

  i had a couple of jw sisters call at my door today.. they started with the bizarre "can we read you a scripture" and read about "death being no more" and asked what i thought of that.. i said it sounded like a mix of disney and dumb.. they then launched into how god was going to put an end to death and wasn't that wonderful?.

  i said it would have been more wonderful if he'd not created death in the first place.. they thought man created death by disobeying so i questioned why god couldn't have just forgiven them.

  apparently "because he loves us" is supposed to be a satisfactory answer to why he kills us.. i asked how loving it was to kill hundreds of thousands of children in tsunami's, disease and so on.. at this point, they gave up on the 'god is love' and switched to the bible being true no matter what because it was an old book and moses had written the first chapter (says the book).. when i suggested it really wasn't that old and that most of the bible myths were copies of older stories from before it was written they questioned if i studied the bible and theology.. then i told them i was brought up as a jw so knew it was all crap.. now it was game on, they immediately switched to play defence questioning why i'd left (and i think they'd already taken a step back away from "the evil" obviously emanating from me).. not much time to say much before they cut and run so i told them i'd left because i found out it was all based on lies and that the watchtower was corrupt and covered up things like child abuse.. oh no, you're thinking of the catholics one of them said (some disdain in how she said "catholics" as though "we're so much better than them").. "well, i challenge you to do a search for the australian royal commission and you'll see the testimony the watchtower leaders gave and the damning evidence that they covered up abuse and reported none of it to the police.".

  Convention coming to a city near YOU...

  ...and it's our duty to warn non-jws, or half awake jws about these events, as they start appearing in newspapers throughout the us, and abroad.

  it almost comes out as a promotional ad for the jw convention.

  the 'current events' editing staff of this paper likely has no idea what their promoting.

  So it begins. The convergence of the JW's for the summer. I noticed she said 14 weekends, but I thought it was 13 weekends for the longest time. I could be wrong. I wonder if they shifted around some districts.

  Great video Christian and Katja! So many people benefit from your sharing on youtube as well as FB.

  I have no idea why anybody would criticize your contributions in the exJW world. But for a certainty, it has nothing to do with you. When people lash out it's all about their own issues that they can't be bothered to work on. It makes them feel superior to put others down, when in reality, it is their own insecurity that is showing.

  Keep it up guys! You are doing great!

  I wanted to let everyone know that today on FB, Debbie Shard's daughter posted that her mother may have had a stroke and is in the hospital. I don't see any more information at this time. She also asked for all to keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

  For the life of me, I can't remember Debbie's JWN name at the moment. She was a frequent participant to the board a few years back. If anyone does know it, please post.

  JWs standing on mats whilst Cart Witnessing

  i've come across a guy on youtube that has been approaching numerous jws in public cart witnessing.

  actually, calling it witnessing is beyond a joke because most of the time they are just standing there and in the case of this youtuber, they walk away in silence or turn their heads.the youtuber is not a jw and i don't think he ever was, he calls himself a christian and i don't think he is affiliated with any particular religion.there is one video where he shows about 4 jws standing on a square plate with a yellow marking on the edge, they each have their own plate.

  i am curious as to why they are standing on these?

  But seriously, those 4 JWs look soooo unapproachable, to me anyway.

  And I guess the brilliant minds at their congo thought to themselves, "hmmm...sitting and chatting amongst ourselves may not be the best idea. Let's put 4 carts together and stand facing out in four directions. That will bring em in!"

  45 Minute Bethel Video about Changes (downsizing) at Watchtower

  i don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.

  basically, everything must change.

  we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

  I tried, watched about 10 minutes then realized I wasn't paying attention. Those condescending, droning voices...

  I know many will eat this up, but I think their minds must be conflicted also, especially those who have been around 50+ years. Nothing they can do about it. I can't believe they can be enthusiastic about anything, regardless of the videos published picture them.

  I hear through the grapevine a collective groaning...and "it must be so close" said in unsure voices that have uttered the same phrase for decades.

  They are adjusting their "sails through the winds of change" right to their graves.

  My brother died last night

  i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.

  it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.

  there were six of us, now only four.
