Holy cow! If I didn't know this interview was given by an end of days evangelical, I would swear I was listening to one of the GB.
He's even got the arrogance down.

this guy was an elder.
i'm sorry if somebody already posted this.. http://abc7.com/news/former-oc-teacher-charged-w--sexually-assaulting-teen-boy/1458295/.
anybody know him?.
i grew up in a very zealous congregation.
we had almost 40 pioneers with only 100 publishers.
the congregation was 100% black americans (i don't say african-american).
I grew up in a very racially mixed area and congregation. That was the era of congregation gatherings for all. We were all close and remained so.
I would run into the matriarchs later at conventions and every time they would pull me to their ample chests and call me baby girl even though I was in my 30's, 40's and even 50's.
I smile when I think of those sisters.
Edited to add, my comment was probably not what you were looking for, but it raised a sweet memory. I bet there was discrimination for non-whites...us kids didn't see it.
they have made so many strategical mistakes it's hard to keep track.
some changes within the last decade or so that are contributing to declining numbers of jws:.
1. elimination of book study groups, the most informal, enjoyable and sociable of the jw meetings, contributed to loss of sense of community among jws.. 2. policy of consolidating kingdom halls.
Yeah, they shot themselves in the foot when they did away with picnics and goodie night!

I also think the playing of videos in place of the human aspect of having a real person as a speaker depersonalizes the meetings. It may sound cool at first to watch professional videos, but I think eventually it will lead to a distancing mentally from the meetings. Probably not by all, but by some. Little to no effort by meeting speakers makes it easier on the BOE to be sure, and good for them...it was a nutty schedule to try to keep up effectively as a "shepherd."
I would think maybe it would make it easier to miss meetings if you thought, "oh I'm really tired...well tonight is the video night, I can catch it another time or go to jw.org."
Just a thought I've been tossing around for a while.
your qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.
in nature amino acids formed to then form dna.
I dunno...I kinda miss that guy....
hello all,i have just signed up to do a comedy course.
it starts in september.in order to get a headstart, i did my first 5 minutes tonight about jws.i explained that i celebrated my first birthday last week.
bemusement and a tittle.explained that if you could choose between hare krishnas and people standing at a trolley/cart as a religion who would you choose?got a laugh.explained that the whole world will be destroyed if you do not listen to our message, yet we are not prepared to initiate a conversation at a trolley.big laugh.
Well done. Probably good therapy!
You are a brave soul...funny stuff!
well the ball has started rolling, gonna sue, can't go into to much detail.
time for some payback .
Go git em!
this really works.
i've already applied the basics of this with one elder who "offered" us a shepherding visit.
we've been totally ignored since!!!
Very good suggestions.
I think the thing I might add that worked for me is to be kind but firm and confident when responding, even if you don't feel that way and are nervous, I told everybody I was on "sabbatical." To some I added "I've taken it to prayer with J." Even some that persisted at times would back at the moment...and eventually they let it go.
i just saw this on the link below.. https://youtu.be/tigp4huuigy.
the question that's raised is.
why would wt want to use a 3rd party in order to recieve donations.
The WTBS is a business. They have and will ALWAYS make decisions in the best interest of the corporation.
It is "us" who thought they were more.
