Boy that's a name from the past. My family has known the Toutjians for years; I don't personally.
I didn't know about this story. Eeesh.
in the 80s there was an bethel elder in the mexico branch, he was graduated along with his wife ruth becerril from gilead school.
he was in charge of meps and the whole computer department... he then started had sex with a 14 year girl in his congregation in the city of texcoco mexico.... he was then df and kicked of bethel but his wife stayed.
he then moved to usa took the girl with him and married her and a couple of years later was re appointed an elder again.. i saw a news article that an elder ex bethelite computer consultant from concord ca with the same name was charged on 1999 by the fbi for having sex with a minor in texas.. both from the same city elders jw and computer consultants.... i wonder what happened with his case..

i keep hearing that the watchtower org is going to be around forever because of the many other religions that have been around a long time.
but i disagree because the wt is not like other religious cults.. the watchtower's breath of life is dependent on the last days that started in 1914. .
you can’t change 1914 without a death blow to the entire organization.. the watchtower's 2nd reason for staying alive, is it's continual urging that the life saving preaching work of warning people is the most important work ever.. but- it's very obvious to many, even the old ones that instead of speeding up the work------the work is slowing down to a drip.. comment by former believer; .
The JWs I know like their life as JWs. They have their community and reduced demands on them from corporate. They are quite loving it. The doctrines are of no concern to them. It’s the same o thing they’ve been hearing for years, they tune it out and go to lunch. I think if they experienced a personal issue or tragedy that woke them up maybe they would leave.
But the WT has a good thing going with expert financial advisors. They aren’t going anywhere. They are evolving, which smart corporations do.

Don’t forget Lloyd’s book signing tour. A big table with stacks of books and people lined up to buy books and get a selfie. He had several dates here in California where a venue was rented and his video team was there recording the program. He was also promoting the movie. He came with Dijana and the daughter.
I only went to the one in Los Angeles because a good friend (former elder) and his wife were coming from out of state to attend. I took the day off work to visit with my friends and tour them around a bit. I’m sure at least 100 people were there and to be honest I met some very interesting people with some very interesting stories. Everyone there was a devotee and financial support asked for and given much like a CO’s visit to the congregation. Lol the proverbial green handshake. “Keep up the good work mate!” Little did anyone know what else those $$$ were spent on
My point is that whole multi state and I believe country tour with his family and entourage costs thousands and very annoying to me. He was reveling in the attention. After our experience here with him I was not interested in anything he was selling, but many were. I did get the chance to slip him a dig when I was introduced to him. I enjoyed the look on his face.

Figgywiglet looked up the courthouse and mentioned it's a municipal court for civil suits and family court misdemeanor cases, not criminal.

big, blue-eyed judge joseph frederick rutherford, 60, lives in a ten-room spanish mansion, no.
4440 braeburn road.
My parents were baptized during Rutherford's reign, so I was raised with stories of him. We live in Southern California and on any given trip to San Diego we drove by the house. I don't remember my dad telling about the "princes", but I do remember very well it was Rutherford's house. I felt very similar to this Time article even as a little girl when hearing about Beth Sarin, "yeah...whatever."
Nice find Terry.

Wow I just watched Andrew’s last video on the Lloyd Evans affair and I think I’m in love. Just kidding.
Great observation and takeaways on the cult of personality. I hope LE loyalists listen to his words and think about what he says.
For those wondering about Javier, he has a beautiful wife and family and is busy with them and his own creative life.
sorry if this has been discussed before but on quora someone asked if rutherford had said that dinosaurs had been taken to venus .
i assume that the questioner had heard it somewhere and wanted to check it out.
i've never come across this before is it true ?
Wow! That's a new one to me! My parents were baptized in 1938, and I thought I had heard all the fakakta things this religion came up with. Goodness!
i am an inactive jw.
i havent been on this forum for a few months and have been lurking in others.
i have met a few people in real life and online, both on this forum and on others.
Well this was quite the "read" down memory lane! Thanks Slim. Good times lol.
Like I said earlier one of the best things that came out of this fiasco is the great friends I made from it. Fizzy wiglet and I were just messaging last night!
But wow, do you just see how LE digs his heels in and refuses to do the right things if it involves any compromise on his part! He is consistent if nothing else...
