This is awesome!
Thanks Lady Liberty.
good evening all,.
just thought i would post the scan of the watchtowers ngo membership straight from the uns website.
so for anyone that has someone saying that is just "apostate" talk like my grandmother said to me..it will be harder to deny it seeing it straight from their site!
This is awesome!
Thanks Lady Liberty.
i use bare minerals foundation and mineral veil.
i love these products but they are quite expensive.
i have noticed several makeup companies like neutrogena, physicians formula, almay, etc.
Oh I am on the mineral makeup band wagon. I tried it on and off through the years and did not like it until I tried "Sheer Cover." Especially the solid compact one I tried since I was traveling in Europe and didn't want powder all over my bag. I absolutely love it...but it is pricey.
I was not happy with Physician's Formula, or l'oreal. I gave them away...something not right on me, too shiny or something...heavy...dunno. Then I tried Milani, from Target, CVS, WAlgreens. It is not quite as good as SC...but for $6.99 in solid or loose...it is pretty darn good. In fact I wear it every day.
I am so pleased I can't even imagine wearing liquid again...and I have some very expensive ones. I think I have to toss them.
i'm talking door to door service work here.
were you the kind who would insist on getting a conversation at ever door?
or where you (like me) the kind who would take a "not interested" as an excuse to get the hell out of the householders face?
I was the type that took my ministry serious, even if I wasn't crazy about it. I felt the message was important, and would try to present something I would like to hear. In the end I just gave out tracts and skipped the magazines, and tried to share a scripture. The response was amazingly positive almost 100%. I think they were relieved they weren't in for a sermon.
If they were not interested, I wished them a "pleasant day" and went on my way. A PO told me that made it more pleasant for the next JW behind me.

during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .
me by using my first or last name when addressing me.
At the time, I felt part of the 'club'. Now it kinda creeps me out.
Yep.
Creepy like belonging to a Mormon compound (not that there is anything wrong with that.)
this weekend was my wife's convention.
i attended with her on friday morning.
she attended alone during the afternoon as i had some clients to meet with for my business.
One speak, I think it was GB member Guy Pierce, made a whistle noise for every word that ended or started with an S. When he whistled, it would echo all over the arena.
Well, that would be annoying!
One thing about that place is it is finally, a really great location, great weather, great ocean breezes...and good places within walking distance for "refreshments."
Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Blondie,
As soon as I wrote "assembly" and sent it I remembered it was convention. But the friends still do say assembly.
Yep, high in the rafters is nice for a nap...and sometimes the echo is so bad you don't have to hear a thing.
I am happy to say the last time I was at the LB convention center was for a Bob Dylan concert. Very happy.

This "would" have been my convention. (As she strains to see if she could recognize anybody in the pic...LOL)
I told my friends "Have a good assembly!!
(Shiver)
i am.
i think they wait way too long though for their series to come back on!
Oh man!!! I was wondering if anybody here was addicted like I am!!!
I have been reading the board at HBO on and off this whole week with the predictions...some are pretty darn good.
There has to be some big twist with Tony I think...Chase always seems to pull something out of the hat that you don't expect.
I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hello, i've been lurking for a few months now.
like many others here i've been through quite a bit lately, and what i've learned (thanks to jwd) is very eye opening to say the least.
will write my story when i have time.
Jib (cute name)
Thank you for sharing you story and "Welcome" to the board.
I am so happy you found a new partner and best wishes for a happy and healthy future!!
D
think about this.. go way back...far far back in history.. go back before the internet.
go back farther.. go back before newspapers, tv and radio.. go waaaaay back before there was public education.. return to a time when there were no universities or libraries.. go even farther back in time and return to when it was thousands of years before any modern era.. people got their ideas from their families and neighbors period!.
everything was rumor.
Terry,
Love the way you think!!
Reached much of the same conclusion myself.
Great post!
