  hi all i just thought i'd recommend a new-ish exjw podcast i've found, for all of you who enjoy the podcast format.

  i thought it was just me that had a negative view of people who proclaim themselves to be activists.. but no, it seems i'm not alone!.

  Boy does this bring back memories.

  Remembering that whole messy Cedars/AAWA time when they added hundreds of Facebook accounts to their “Activist” page. I had family/friends and former Bible student who was on my FB page I was trying to keep a relationship with. I do/did not consider or want to be an activist. I merely was trying to navigate leaving a life I was raised in, losing my family and friends because of it, desperately trying not to make things worse for a devoted JW mom who I continued to take care of etc etc etc. I found a community of people navigating though the same issues. That’s it.

  I sometimes wonder if those that brand themselves "activists" are , consciously or sub-consciously , looking down on those who share their beliefs but aren't as vocal or "active" as the "activist" is. A bit like the self righteous pioneer / elderette etc types in the congregation who always seemed a bit dismissive and sometimes openly critical of those who didn't do as much ministry as they did.
  

  ^^^this is exactly it with some folks. People carry their same attitudes to no matter what group they are in…be it work, religion, politics. I wanted to stay as far away as possible from that toxic AAWA group. That being said I do have dear friends who are very much activists without the previous drama.

  His excuse that they were over 18 and they agreed to exchange sex for money doesn't mean much in this instance. They have nowhere to go to report when they were harmed. They are entirely dependent on Lloyd Evans' good will. This is also the case in many other countries. He does seem to care about the abuse in the JW org but not the abuse of SWs he had intercourse with. Why is he not helping them? Instead he pays them to fulfill his fantasies.

  ^^ x 100! Very well stated KatKat. This is exactly my feeling. His histrionic behavior is annoying in the very very least. But his defense of his sexual proclivities should exclude him from any work for CSA victims.

  The Major League Baseball All-Star Game.....And, An Assembly

  folks: well, here in the united states, tonight, july 19th, is when the mlb all-star game will be played.

  and, it will be played at dodger stadium, in los angeles, california.

  for those of you who don't know, the all-star game is a game in which members of the american league teams compete with members of the national league teams.

  You and me both Dagney. I was in the orchestra. The Sunday session ended early so we had time to get home to watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. Snoozing through the All Star game as I write this.

  Oh I remember it well! I liked to go down there on the field and visit my bro who was also in the orchestra, it was a cool place to hang out. I forgot about the moon landing.

  We left the country soon after to be "need greaters" lol. I attended the "Peace on Earth" convention THREE more times in different countries.

  Good point. And LE provides all sorts of validation for the repressed flawed man and unsatisfying wife syndrome.

  Was talking to friend the other day reminiscing about those smells in stairwells and bathrooms. I think I can still smell them in my brain.

  Then hanging out at the third base entrance after the session checking out all the boys.

  The carrot = pet tiger/lion/panda, swiss chalet home, picnics every day, dead people popping up everywhere

  JW Reality:

  1. 70-80 years of current life in "worldly" system sickness/death
  2. Then "The Tribulation" (TM) prison, attacks from governments
  3. Then "Armageddon" the greatest of all wars and Jesus on the white horse and 9 billion dead
  4. Cleaning up the 9 billion dead along with the birds
  5. Then building the swiss chalet and planting and eating your own figs/growing cotton for clothes and somewhere in there steel mills/glass mfg/wood processing or whathaveyou (TBA)
  6. Clean up the earth from 9 billion and rebuild new world.
  7. Satan released and go through steps 1-6 again, wash repeat.

  ^^ Exactly. A doubt or question is there to begin with if you are sitting through any apostate videos, let alone LE's. Why some people credit LE when it is their own questioning brain...don't know.

  Again, it is the cult of LE, his behavior is excusable and lying doesn't matter. Interestingly, this person's exit was due to not being able to get a study WT while df'd, and was told to get their copy online. And guess what site popped up while searching for said WT? They voraciously read this site and the masterful discussions...they were out in just a few days.

  So there you go.

  I had a discussion with a very passionate patreon of LE last week. They absolutely saw nothing wrong with LE and his sex life it was none of anybody's business. The argument was that they personally knew many people that were helped out of JW by LE's videos and if it wasn't for said videos, (the same ones I cannot stand to watch), these folks would still be in the cult. I said said LE's bad behavior doesn't negate per se individual good results...it is still bad behavior.

  When I say passionate, I really mean passionate. Sooo, I just had to tell the person that I "heard" what they were saying, and I understand. I let them finish and said my experience is different, the sex life is just one part of many issues with LE, and that I think he is a jerk, and a liar, and has treated people in the EXJW community horribly. I also felt he is hypocritical in the way he personally criticizes members of the GB for less than LE's behavior. They said "that is laughable."

  We ended that I feel as strongly in my opinion as they did in theirs, and we just have to agree to disagree. I'm telling you...it felt like it was talking to someone who just jumped from one cult to another.

  On a side note, can that man taaaallllkkkk...I tried to watch the "Leaving bunker" video, and cut out after 5 minutes. I really do not see the attachment people have to his videos...
