Don't get me started. I was going to college in 1969, but they told me the world was ending. Now when I used to go to assemblys they said NO COLLEGE...SERVICE, SERVICE. Which I always thought was surprizing. I mean, don't they need Doctors, etc. people with education? I don't understand it. Ruined my life. Well, I take full responsibility for my life, should not have believed it.

Why No Education for Jehovah's Witnesses
by WTWizard inthere are actually two reasons for this.
the first is that education takes time away from the ministry.
if they take time to go to college, that is time that can't be used to go in the ministry, and "lives are at stake".

Why did/do Jewish folks not believe Jesus was their messiah?
by Kudra inalso, what would constitute the presence of the messiah today (or whenever he does come)?
could a jewish guy just say that he is the messiah?
how would he prove this?

Sasha
All my Jewish friends believe in Jesus. That he was just a man. They are still waiting for the Messiah!

Can you be HALF a witness?
by RollerDave ini have an ex (my 1st), who is still a true believer in spite of her penchant for smoking, drinking, sleeping around and whooping it up with the lowest of lowlifes she can find.. (yes, moxie, i know you are reading this.
you're a beeyatch and claim to be proud of it, so stop smirking and sign up if you want to refute the above!).
she is one of those people who accept it as "the truth" mostly from the outside even though such acceptance means they better put butter and jelly in their pockets 'cuz they're gonna be toast in the big a.. she has a plan tho, she intends to 'get in' by pretending to comply long enough to get baptized, but still do pretty much as she pleases!.

What allows JWs to use Jehovah (YHWY)
by wab07 ini remember from past college courses that in the old testament the isrealites were not allowed to say god's name yhwy because it was too sacred, so they could only write it; therefore, they used el when saying god's name....correct?.....the jws seem to claim that they are the only religion to know god's name, but where do they get the right to say jehovah.
are there any scriptures that would confirm the change from only writing god's name to saying it?
i was just wondering about this questions because the jws have an answer for everthing....maybe i should ask one.

Aren't You Glad You're Out of the Organization??? Do You Now Have A Life?
by minimus infunny though, the only time i really think about the good old days is when i come here.
when i meet other exjws, quite often they seem consumed by their present situation.
sometimes i like to go out, have a couple of drinks and enjoy the food.

YES. I must say, though, over many years I did learn a lot about the bible and am grateful for it. But the pressure of the organizaton was just too much for me. Always felt (Don't know the word to use) uncomfortable and weird, kinda apacey, almost like I was on LSD. One witness told me that was the Holy Spirit coming into me. Believed that for years until I started having anxiety attacks as I started asking "questions" that I was given lies to. That was the end. I do feel free.

Go to her web site and write to her about it. She's always looking for someone to exxploit. But you're better off with Bill O Rielly...he's REAL into protecting children from predators!!!

carbon dating
by bluebell injust wondering and not wanting to take over perrys thread re: dinosaur dna.
i know the dubs poo poo the idea of carbon dating saying that it's all wrong and that the human and animal remains are not millions of years old because according to them mankind is 6,000 years oldish, is there anywhere where they contradict themselves on this, so that they accept carbon dating on some things and not on others?.

Theres Creation by God....but of course animals and people would have had to evolve due to living contions, i.e. weather, etc. We all know the JW do things to their advantage and then repell the same ideas.
