  Any Buddhists Here?

  i was a jw from birth until after i got out of high school.

  i've drifted away over the last 15 years or so.

  lately i have found myself missing my sense of spirituality.

  I personally haven't had much experience with Buddism, but my brother, who is also out, has been doing quite a bit of reading on the subject, and he is beginning to think that that is the right choice for him...

  Many of their explanations actually make sense

  My brother has found this as well...he likes the fact that there's no "trickery" involved.

  WTS Secret Police

  heres a story of what happened to me at a district convention this year.. an unbaptised publisher and i travelled to wolverhampton district convention in england.

  this wasnt our district but id been on holiday and had missed my own district convention (how unspiritual of me).

  so me and this friend decided to go to this convention and was also hoping to meet a friend there.. on the saturday morning we were delayed in traffic and we eventually arrived at 11.30am, paid our 3 for parking (i wonder if they had the use of car parks for free?

  Am sorry to hear that you had to go thru this. Although I have never been followed at an assembly, I do recall a certain time when I was out and about with some friends, smoking and drnking, generally up to no good (I was 16)... My mom managed to find out about this. I now know that she in fact had some friends from the KH, following me! I remember how violated I felt then...

  It just goes to show how paranoid these people can be...you'd think that they'd welcome strangers to a convention, but apparently not. Intstead of welcoming someone...they are treated like criminals.

  But we all know where the real criminals are don't we??

  Come and PICK UP your *^%(&%^ Magazines!

  can somebody explain how that whole new arrangement of having to go to the hall to get your magazines now is working?

  is that only for jws with subscriptions or does the public have to come to the hall for their magazines now?

  was anybody else like me who had stacks of magazines that kept comin and comin and comin and never even took them out of the wrappers??

  Evolution or Creation??

  well i know i may be opening a can of worms here.... but after what we were taught in the wts about creation...and now that you may know more about evolution... which do you think you'd choose to believe more??.

  myself...i am leaning towards evolution...but then i read things that make me think otherwise.

  so i do find it confusing sometimes .

  Myself...I am leaning towards evolution...but then I read things that make me think otherwise. So I do find it confusing sometimes

  What Do You Do to Relax?

  i am hereby, for the next 24 hours at least, swearing off all serious topics.

  yesterday was a brain-fry day, what with the harassment stuff, a call from our medicaid lawyer regarding my mother's application (not good news), doing bills, and fleeing to the gym at lunch only to find out i've gained two pounds since last week.. today at lunch i am going shopping by myself.

  i am going to my favorite resale/antique clothing shop down the street and see if i can find something eye-popping for the apostafest.

  I like to kick back with good friends and have nice dinner and perhaps a few drinks. I also like to take my dogs for walks...that's always good to decompress

  so i ask you, my friends from various countries around the globe....what is a symbol that is unique to your country or culture?????.

  come on, we've been talking about canadians so much lately that my ears are freezing up.. what i want to know is, what do you think of us brits?.

  do you think that we are cute and cuddly for example?.

  I have never met or spoke with a Brit that I didn't like. The Brits that I know are quite witty and charming...and I always like to go for a pint with them !
