So, why is sex a sin?
by Gill inso, why is sex, without marriage a sin?.
why when someone is talking about morality, do they really mean sexual activities, and not lying, cheating, child abuse, wife beating, bad tempers, being a horrible person, murder, generally bad behaviour.. those other things, i would say are more immoral.. but, sex, why is it a sin?
if two people are in love, have no other ties, want to be together, why is that a sin?

Because jehovah created the man and the women and he has a right to set the rules. He says it is a sin and so it is.

I feel great and looking forward to later on when I go to a gathering of worldly people to a B Que. I was coming back from the store and saw an older couple moving in some things into the apartment they just moved in to, down stairs from me. I offered to help and "got er done!" Today they are having a get together by the pool with family and friends and invited me to eat. Can't wait, I am starving!

[Jesus will] be regarded in that day with wonder in connection with all those who exercised faith.—2 Thess. 1:10.
In his role as Gog of Magog, Satan will launch an all-out attack against Jehovah’s peaceful Witnesses. Coming up "like clouds to cover the land," Gog’s hordes will expect an easy victory. What a shock awaits them! (Ezek. 38:14-16, 18-23) The apostle John writes: "I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True . . . Out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it." This invincible "King of kings" will rescue Jehovah’s loyal worshipers and annihilate all their enemies. (Rev. 19:11-21) Do you want to be among those who will stand in awe of the victorious Son of God? Then continue to nourish your faith and to ‘prove yourself ready, because at an hour that you do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming.’—Matt. 24:43, 44. w 1/15/05 18, 19a

The Bastard told on my dad
by Lilycurly inso...everything had been fine for a while.
i wrote my da letter, very clear and also very surprinsingly "apostate" according to the elders.
so at first, dad does what he's told is right and starts the shunning.

Your comment pisses me off because if you would feel this way about your daughter speaking negatively about god and the organization, then why in the world are you on this board associating with us who feel the society is a cult? I know it is a free world, and you may very well at some point see the truth about the society. But that comment is being two faced to me.
I appreciate your honest and well put comment. The senario that i posed and the one I am in right now are two different things. I aplly the same things i said about if my daughter were ever to get that far to people here. If you read my post you will notice I said curb my association. I do this here as well.

But thats the whole point - it WOULDNT be fine, because if you didnt shun your daughter the elders would be onto you,
That is the problem. Who cares what the Elders would do to you. Let the Elders be onto you. The Elders are not the masters of our Faith Jesus is. If my daughter was not DF or was not speaking bad about God and the way of worship then they have no leg to stand on scripturally against me for continuing my relationship with my daughter and would make that very clear to them. I would have a clean conscience before jehovah about my decision.

Sorry to hear that Lily. I have no Family in the truth, so I wouldn't know how that feels. I do have a daughter almost out of the house. Reading your experience made me think. Would I shun my daughter if she ever left? I love her with all my heart, so I thought really hard about it. This is what I came up with. If my daughter just left because she doesn't believe anymore, than fine. Me nor anyone else cannot force someone to Worship God. I would be able to except that and still have a loving relationship with her as I do now. But, if she were to leave and start dogging God and the way He is worshipped by us and speak negatively about Him to others and how we are a cult and the whole nine yards, then I would probably curb my associaiton with her. I would be very sad and hurt but It would be something I would have to do. Again lily, if my daughter just left and said " Im done I dont belive it anymore you have at it," and that was it, I can live with that and would continue relations as normal.
I am sorry to hear you are going through this.

JW sighting at the supermarket
by Scully inlast weekend i was picking up a few things for dinner and was just ringing through the order when i noticed the person behind me examining the cake i was buying a little too closely.
it was a jw woman we used to know.
apparently she was hell bent on figuring out whether this cake was for some kind of celebration (it wasn't) so she could run back to her husband the elder and try to cause trouble for me.

I couldn't help but notice how worn and tired she looked. And how her disappointment was visible at the news that we are doing just fine thanks.Personally I think that is a strong judgement to make. How do you know She felt that way? How do you know that she is unhappy about you doing just fine, but just concerned and maybe saddened that you do not serve Jehovah anymore as outlined by the witnesss? That is not so bad is it, to be concerned about someone you feel is not doing the right thing? Even though you do not agree with her way of worship, she does and she may have genuine feeling for you because what she truely believes in as being right and beneficial, you no longer practice. That is not a bad thing in my book.
