ITS OCCURS TO ONE THAT THE FLOOF WOULD HAVE DESTROYED VIRTUALLY ALL VEGETATION,SO WHERE DOES WT SAY POST FLOOD VEGETATION COME FROM? I dont know what the wt says but here in florida there are floods and when the water drys up the vegetation is stil there. Then vegetation produces seeds which would produce more vegetation. All kinds of vegetation lives underwater. If there was a flood. I suppose Noah could have brought various seeds on board. Im more concerned about what kind of God would know the begining from the end. And create a situation that he would get so out of control and so mad that he would destroy everything. When he knew he would do that to begin with. Thats kind of scary. And then he would send himself to sacrafice himself (if your christian) or send his son to sacrafice himself if your JW which he knew he would because he knows everything. Thats even more scary. Sounds like a story some men made up to try and control those stuck on stupid.

No Watchtower Magazines
by JH in.
often in the past, after missing many months of meetings, i just showed up at the hall, and i had such a hard time finding a watchtower magazine, just to follow the study.. even elders were trying to find one for me, and sometimes there was just one left, and often there was none, so i remember being given one from a witness who decided to follow with his spouse in her magazine.. what i'm getting to is that they don't have tons of magazines at the hall, just there waiting for some newbie to show up.. i wonder why they go door to door, if they can't even have a couple of spare watchtower magazines incase a stranger just showed up...

I guess they werent really that organized. I used to get the watertower in the mail so I would always have that one if I couldnt find one at the hall.

WHY WAS THE ROTATION OF THE PRESIDING OVERSEER DISCONTINUED?
by juni inway back one man was the presiding overseer of the congregation.
then in the ' 70s they started the arrangement of the body of elders w/one being the po.
during this time they started w/the practice of rotating the entire boe so that each member would be serving in a different capacity - theocratic ministry school overseer, field overseer, literature overseer, secretary, etc.

I remember what you mention. I dont know why they stopped the rotation. I would guess the light got brighter there for a while.

Martial arts is something to do. Its a good hobby. It can give you self confidence. Hopefully you will never have to use it.Except for fun and in tournements. I studdied shotokan Karate. Karate is the open hand. Karate is where they break boards with thier hand and head. That is just one aspect. Another aspect is teaching self defense which could involve judo, jujitsu and aikido. Self defense is what gives confidence, I think more than breaking boards or doing katas. Karate has katas which are movements in a routine. You have to learn the katas to get your belts. I dont know what kendo is. Tai kwan do is a kicking martial art vs karate which means open hand. I would think a karate school would teach some ta kwan do and a tai kwan do school would teach some karate. If you ever get in a fight most likely it will end up on the ground and thats were the judo and jujitsu comes in. I would think a good Sensai would teach you all of it, mine did. Aikido is using someones movement and redirecting it against him. A sensai is the teacher who runs the dojo. Oh yeah, you have to take your shoes off when you enter the dojo. So wear sandals or flip flops.

Do YOU Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus insome habits are hard to break.
many of us were raised as jws and when people try to 'put you down', they might say something like, "you're still acting like a witness".
i wonder whether or not we sometimes do exhibit witness "traits".

What I have learned.....
by kerj2leev in....in the year of being out.
1. most "worldly people" are loving, caring, wonderful people.. 2. that i was taught to be an arragant ass, to look down on others.. 3. that life outside is not only possible, but better!.
what are some of the things you have learned???
-

Ive learned that Jw's are very negative people that are down on everything. And my life is better when I am far away from them. Plus I agree with what you have learned.

Did you block out your Witness life?
by achickwwit ini stopped going to meetings at age 19 or 20. my brother had been df'd.
my sister and her new bethalite husband had left the organization labeled as apostates, and my single mom followed suit.
i was pretty much raised by the congregation, though i lived with my isolated mother.
