When you define how other people feel or how you think other people feel what your really doing is defining yourself and how you feel or felt.

Is it possible for someone to "Love being a JW"?
by JH ina few days ago, i met an old lady that has a jw as neighbour.
she knows that jw couple since years, although she isn't a jw.
so, i asked that old lady, "do you still see that jw couple once in a while", hoping for some kind of juicy news..... so, my question is, "how can a person love to be a jw" when so many others just "hate" being in that religion?.

My daughter turns 14 today!
by lovelylil ini am so happy for her.
it is only the second birthday we are celebrating.
she is very excited as we are having a party at a local pizza place that she and all her friends hang out at and then invited 10 of her closest friends to go to the arcade afterwards - tokens on me and her father.. i was thinking how less than 3 years ago now my daughter was very depressed and spent most of her time in her room.

Things You'd Like To Tell Or Ask A JW......
by minimus inif you could have, while you were a member of the congregation, did you ever want to tell an elder, a pioneer, a circuit overseer, an elder's wife, etc.
off and let them know what you really thought of them??
if you could, now, what would you like to tell these self righteous people about what you really think??

I dont have to tell them anything I just moved on. When I was sucked in it was another world no internet, 3 tv channels, fm radio just starting. Information was hard to find for everybody. Anybody who has become a jw in the last 6 years I have a bridge down here in Florida I'd like to sell you.
On second thought I have compassion for anybody who got sold a load of Watertower crap.

Christ/Anti-Christ Tower/Anti-Tower
by Geronimo ini've discovered a christian sect that's the antithesis of the wtbts.
every negative emotion, word, thought, action, and attitude of watchtower madness finds it's mirror image in the unity school of christianity.
whereas the wt is authoritarian and demands submission, unity fosters free thought, inquiry, and individual autonomy.

I went to the Unity church in Clearwater Fla shortly after I left the witnesses in 83, It was a very pleasant experience. I think I went 2 or 3 times but I guess I didnt want to start any new habbits seeing as I was free of the old habbit. I guess that was part of my recovery.

Which did you fear more as a JW, God or the Elders?
by JH ini felt that god understood if i missed meetings or didn't go out in the field service very much, but the elders wouldn't.. bottom line, i feared the elders more ...... that's pretty sad.

Birds of a feather flock together, this is where all of the people who hate being jw's congregate. Those who love it go to meetings. Were the goats they are the sheep. My mother in law and sisters in law and brothers in laws have been witnesses for over 30 years and some of their parents at least 20 years before them. Thats what they do. Its a big world, theres something and someplace for everybody. I knew a long time ago that when they enjoyed going to assemblies and meetings, and I prefered to ride my motorcycle and play my guitatr, that we were different.

MOve on!???
by Core88 inok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?
come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?
i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.
