Makes you wanna slip some Prozac in their coffee...
Someone needs to make a "Prozac air freshner" so we can spray it in their general direction and they calm their a$$es down.
i'm sick of them!
my mom was telling me of how her friend is upset again with the elders (and nearly everyone else) because they don't talk to her.
she waits in the back of the hall and watches everyone go by her to see if they'll approach her to see how she's faring.. i know of a certain woman who regularly comments on how certain persons are "giving her a look".

interesting question i think.. the society says we "search out deserving ones" and "those rightly disposed", those who have "the right heart condition" - did you ever feel this was you when you accepted the truth?
did you feel that jehovah thought you as a deserving one?.
No, I only got baptized because I was guilted into it. I was 12 y/o when my cousin got baptized the year before me at 11 y/o. Too early in my opinion. The day she was baptized several elders and "mature brothers" came up to me and asked when I was getting baptized. I was under so much pressure that year, I went through those qualifying questions for the following assembly. The worse mistake I ever made....
Time flies by quickly. Here's hoping your day is not too difficult.
my estranged hubby and i have a brilliant 18-year old daughter who has been working since the age of 16. she received a full academic scholarship plus numerous monetary awards for her high school achievements.
needless to say, she's built up a nice little nest egg.. estranged hubby has always been an exceptional father.
for instance, when baby girl needed an abacus in 3rd grade, he made one for her.
Such a proud moment to know that you've raised a responsible young woman. I haven't come across many 18 y/o who haven't wasted that amount on frivilous and silly things.
Good for you! You get a gold star
growing up, my mother was very prejudiced.
mostly against black people.
i had no choice on the matter of my skin color.
I don't consider myself prejudiced. There are those of each race that are upstanding, considerate and loving and those who are not.
My mom on the other hand would tell us in her subtle way "You know, a blue bird does not marry a red bird". All four of us kids would just roll our eyes and walk away from this. Surprisingly though, we all married within our race even though we've all had relationships with people of other races. Mama was not happy during those interracial times in our lives.
Dad never said a word. I guess he figured he'd let mom do the fighting on this issue, but I really don't think he cared whether we married someone of another race.
it takes 16 pounds of grain/grass etc to produce 1 pound of animal flesh which means that the biggest contributor to global warming isn't your car - it's animal produce.
now - we can scream about those gas guzzlers and the emissions they put out - but if we run out and buy ethanol or drive a prius - then we sit down to a steak dinner or chow down on those burgers...then don't you think that its a little ridiculous?
whats the answer?
BlueVice: Thanks for the tips!
I have had miso soup before haven't cooked it myself. I'm going to attempt to create a recipe this weekend but I'm not going to tell DH what it is and see what happens. I'll have to hide the packaging also cause that booger will look in the garbage to find out what i'm cooking. Then it'll be all this drama about tofu.
Edited to add: Restrangled: Your dogs are beautiful!
this thanksgiving looks to be hectic.
we have out-of-town guests coming to stay with us.
in all, i'm planning on having 19 people for dinner.
Finally Free: Here's the recipe. Pretty basic and simple. It's so yummy.
Preheat oven to 350.
4 cans of french cut green beans
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 large can of French Fried onions or 2 small cans (my people like a lot of onions.)
Drain the green beans and put in a bowl. Add the cream of mushroom to the bowl. Add 1/2 of the big can of onions or 1 whole small can of onions.
You can add salt/pepper if you want. I add a little cajun seasoning to mine. My sister puts some garlic powder in it.
Mix all that up good and spread out in glass baking dish. Put the remainder of the onions on the top and cover with foil.
Bake in the oven on 350 until it bubbles. Approx. 20 mins or so.

you could make green bean casserole. The one with cream of mushroom and those cripsy onions. I know it's one of the first things to go at my house.

BlueViceRoy: Do you have any favorite recipes you want to share? My aunt made some tofu something and I haven't had the courage to try it again.

if you could live anywhere-----what would your choice be?
I don't know about the best to live in. I'm currently in Louisiana and I enjoy it, but I'm comfortable here since I grew up here. I miss Dallas and would not be heart broken if I had to live there again. I visited Mass. Boston/Cambridge area and enjoyed it, very pretty from what I saw but I heard its very expensive living there. Visited Georga and NY but don't think I'd want to live in either of those states. Virginia, Maryland and DC are pretty, I enjoyed my stay in those places. I'll stop there.
