Heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. It is sad how even in death families are separated by the cruel and unchristian rules of the Watchtower organization. May God comfort you with the hope of resurrection in Jesus Christ. Pahpa

Rutherford HAD proof Britain and USA would go Fascist in W.W.2 Wow!
by Witness 007 inhis book "enemies" 1937 p.291 "will great britain and america become fascist under the dominating control of the roman catholic hierarchy?
the scriptures and the facts, appear to fully support that conclusion.....what was the real inducement that caused king edward to abdicate may be better understood in the near future..." {turns out he was right}.
well done rutherford!

The old literature was replete with Rutherford's condemnation of the facists and other forms of oppressive "worldly governments." But when it came to saving Watchtower property such as that in Magdeburg, Germany, Rutherford hypocritically went to great lengths to appease Hitler and the Nazis by condeming England, American and the "international Jew." It didn't work. So, after this vain attempt, Rutherford became quite vociferous in his opposition.
The Watchtower is quite silent about this aspect of its own history. Little wonder!

judgemental
by megaflower ini was wondering if many of you have felt the same way.
when i was a practicing jw i found myself either being judged or i found myself being overly critical of others.
it seemd the more miserable i became the more critical i was and i found this disturbing.

I think the overwhelming feeling of most JWs is that of guilt because of not doing enough. No matter how zealous a person became in the organization, one felt that one should be doing even more. This guilt trip was fostered by others especially the elders. I can remember an elder asking my wife who had our four young children at the time,a full time job in itself, if she was going to "vacatioin pioneer" that year. We even felt guilty when we took a rare weekend off to visit our elderly parents. We were suppose to attend the local Kingdom Hall so as to "not miss a meeting." It sapped the joy of serving right out of most of us. But what a sense of relief when we finally broke loose from this insidious organization!

Sorry I have no information on this. Just curious, though...
Was it in the Burlington or Wilmington congretation that the Society removed the entire Body of Elders when the new elder arrangment was initiated in the 1960s? I remember hearing rumors of such years ago. There were many discussions at the time whether or not elders were directly appointed by "holy spirit." This event defeated the arguments of those who thought they were since all had been appointed then removed not by holy spirit but by a directive of the Watchtower Society!

Which is More Important: Doctrinal Correctness or Unity?
by Olin Moyles Ghost inlately i have done a lot of thinking about the inevitable discussions i will have with family and friends about my (and their) beliefs.
i have begun running through some hypothetical conversations in my mind.
today, i thought of a particular line of reasoning and would like to hear any comments/criticism from the board.

Most Jehovah's Witnesses confuse "unity" with "conformity." One can be united with fellow believers in faith, such as accepting Jesus Christ and yet disagree on certain doctrinal points. But the Watchtower demands conformity from its members. Each JW must believe what the Watchtower teaches even though some of these teachings have changed over the years. The Society acknowledges that some teachings have changed but one was still required to believe so as to "not run ahead of the organization." This forced conformity is against the principle of Christian freedom. (Ray Franz addresses this in his book "In Search of Christian Freedom.)
Interestingly, individual JWs have different ideas on certain beliefs... particularly on Bible prophecy. Among themselves, speculations are often shared. But they consider this as personal views rather than organizational doctrine.

I'm not sure I understand your point. Do you mean telling about the circumstances of leaving the organization? That would vary depending upon why one left. Some leave because of unchristian and immoral deeds. Others leave because of a realization that the Watchtower organization is not "the truth." In any case, some are reluctant to share their experiences because of the Watchtower's policy of shunning. Others, like those on this forum, are only too happy to share their stories with everyone to expose the unchristian and cruel rules of the organization.

Paul's words about Christ subjecting himself to God seems clear and simple. (l Co. 15) It takes a strained (and strange) interpretation for trinitarians to try to explain away what is obvious in Paul's letter.
It also should be noted that John 1:18 is one of those texts that the trinitarians have tried hard to convolute. The original greek text reads: ...."the only-begotton God." One can see why the trinitarian translators want to avoid this rendering. They fault other translations for John 1:1 but are shameless with John 1:18.

I hate the Watchtower but I really still hate the Trinity Jesus is NOT God!
by Witness 007 insome bibles use the term "worship" when refering to jesus...at times people did fall down and bow to him........this doesn't show he was god!
the greek term; proskeyneo, means to prostrate oneself, to bow down and show honour.
now, this was done for jehovah.....and his representatives....jesus israelite kings and priests....but for the honour of jehovah not as creature worship which even angels would refuse.. also i studied the non-biblical early church gospels which really does show a slow decline over 150 years, into the trinity as the watchtower claims...........although i still hate the watchtower society at least i learnt something that wasn't a lie..

If nothing else, it is encouraging that the trinity controversy still continues after 1500 years of arguing and debating the subject. But we have to be careful, though, how we judge others on the basis of this doctrine. The minute we deny one another a Christian standing we break the counsel "not to judge one another." We take on the role of God....something that is akin to apostasy itself.

Isaiah established that the Messiah would be a "Mighty God." Earty Christians would not hesitate to give this honor to Christ. The word "god" is a relative one as you know. Satan and humans were called "gods" in scripture. But it did not imply that they were Almighty God. Isaiah also calls the Messiah "Everlasting Father." Yet, trinitarians insist that the Father is a separate "person" than the Son.
JH
This is an important point. Trinitarians may argue as Real One does that Jesus acknowledges his father's superiority while he was in human form. However, Paul is talking about Christ when he has all power and glory in his kingdom. But in the "end" he subjects himself "to God" and hands over everything to God. This would be impossible if he was God in the trinitarian sense.

i once invited a jw to a babygroup held in a church hall and she loved it
by looloo inbut she never came again , while she was there she told me she would invite others from jw land (i have afeeling that didnt go down too well ) i know she knew it was "wrong "to be there but i said "do you really believe this place is evil ,its just a nice place full of children playing with toys " she said "i know" what would have ben said to her about it , if it got back to the elders .

looloo
She probably went back and spoke to an elder or some other "mature" JW. She would have been sternly rebuked for having gone to a "church hall." Fear would keep her from attending again. Until and unless she begins to question the whole system of the Watchtower policies she will be trapped. However, her experience with you may be the first seeds of doubt that have been planted that will eventually bring some fruition.
