What of all the laws that pertain to sacrifices? Even the Jews can not obey them since there is no longer a temple.

Is there anyway possible that a JW can disprove someone...
by A-Team in(this is zone, i forgot my passowrd and my e-mail has been disbaled...so dont treat me as a new member).
who has found over 700 verses on a particular subject (the laws of the torah and coevnants of jehovah)?.
anywho, i find it odd that they claim that we are no longer under the mosiac law, and all laws under it arn't required to be practiced anylonger.

The Watchtower uses the Old Testament laws and rules when it suits its purpose. It particularly likes those that involve harsh penalties for infractions. However, the New Testament doesn't invalidate the moral laws of the Old but puts even a greater responsiblity upon each individual to uphold God's righteousness and holiness. As Paul discusses in length in his letters that Christians are no longer under the ceremonial law of Moses. But he also underscores that our freedom in Christ does not give us an excuse to commit immorality.
Jews thought they could gain God's approval by obeying the Mosaic Law. But this was impossible because imperfect humans fail to live up to these standards. But God's grace makes allowance provided our hearts are devoted to pleasing Him.

There was a time that the Watchtower would avoid any appearance of being similar to the Catholic church. But in the Bonham, Texas case the Watchtower's lawyer argued that it was a "hierarchy" and thus had full property rights to the Kingdom Hall. Now, the Watchtower even embraces the Catholic sounding titles like "religious order of..."
It always involves money or property. Reminds one of the Pharisees who were "lovers of money." (Luke 16:14) But in the same chapter Jesus warns: "You cannot serve both God and Money." (Vs. 13)

There are a number of myths and traditions about the vessels of the Temple. A Jewish one has them hidden under the Temple site. It's been said that Muslims sealed up that tunnel so they could not be found. Interestingly, there is a radical Orthodox group of Jews who want to rebuild the Temple on the site of the Dome of the Rock. They have been copying some of the temple implements and searching for the perfect "red heifer." They receive support from a few Protestant Fundamentlists that would also like to see the restoration of the Temple.

I see that the Watchtower has formed new corporations. I never thought I would ever see one of them as "The Religious Order of Jehovah's Witnesses." What next? "Bethel Vatican" or "Gilead College of Cardinals?"

who is paid cleargy in WTS?
by ukescott inmormons claim that they don't have paid cleargy.
it is true if they are taking about local churches.. but they have so many paid leaders in their organization: the general authorities made up of the first presidency, the twelve apostles, and the seventies, and seminary institute teachers, branch office administrators and staffs in each country, and etc.. what about the wts?
who are the "paid cleargy"?

The circuit and district overseers received generous contributions from Jehovah's Witnesses. Over the years, I saw envelopes passed to them that contained money. This was especially true of the more affluent JWs. And these always had access to the Watchtower representatives. They often wined and dined together.
As regards the Governing Body members, it should be noted that one does not have to be rich to live like the rich. These members, as noted, traveled extensively, had the best accomodations and always given "carte blanche" wherever they went. At the headquarters, they had nice apartments overlooking Manhattan and had access to certain things that others at Bethel did not. I remember being told that one always visited the farms and brought back the filet mignons to keep in his private reserve. Such were the perks of the job.

I also found it interesting that Onias used the prophecy in Isaiah (19:19) to justify his building of this temple in Egypt. I believe this is the same prophecy that Russell used in his belief that the measurements of the great pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) was a "witness" to the end time prophecies of the Bible.

In the early 80s we had a young couple from Bethel come back to our old congregation to share their experiences. They were getting disillusioned precisely because of the restrictions on Bible study and free discussion. They also noted the cruel treatment that was being meted out to those like Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap. It really was the main factor that made many of us begin to question the validity of the FDS. Up until that time, we felt that the "human imperfections" we saw in the congregations would be corrected by those in the Governing Body. But when we heard of the terrible things happening at Bethel, we realized that things were far worse at the headquarters. In time, a large number of us left the organization. Most were disfellowshipped for "apostasy." Our sin was that we questioned the "faithful and discreet slave."

Most of us are familiar with the Samaritan Temple built upon Mt. Gerizim from comments about it in the New Testament. Less familiar are the two Jewish temples that were built in Egypt. The Samaritan Temple existed from around 330 BC to 128 BC when it was destroyed by John Hyrcanus. The small community of Samaritans that still exist worship at the site.
Less known are the temples that were erected on the Island of Elephantine (Asswan) and the other at Leontopolis in Egypt. It is believed that a Jewish garrison of mercenaries erected a temple at Elephantine. Myths have developed that the ark of the covenant was carried there before the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem and later transferred to Ethiopia. This site was destroyed in 410 BC. The temple that was built in Leontopolis around 171 BC came about when Onias fled Jerusalem. The king, Ptolemy VI Philometer, acceded to his request to build a temple resembling the one in Jerusalem. It remained for about 243 years until destroyed three years after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 CE.
