i don't want to hijack the other thread.. you mention the eye being better than any camera so lets discuss this.
i used to give a talk where i would use the complexity of the eye as evidence of creation, but i have since changed my mind and below is the reasoning that helped me do so.. i would welcome you comments and reasoning against this.. if you had a choice between being totally blind and being able to see things out of focus, which would you pick.. i'm sure you would, like me prefer to have out of focus vision, than no vision at all.. would you rather have vision that was out of focus and devoid of color, or be totally blind.
i'm sure you prefer the colour option.. how about if you could only see vague shapes around you or blindness?
I took a year of pre-med biology and can't comprehend how someone teaching a course that complex could believe in pure chance. The mathematical probability against it is beyond comprehension and quarantees that it didn't and doesn't happen. Evolution is taught because one has to or you "will never get a job teaching (at a secular university) or get published" which is a real threat and demonstrates the intimidation and methods of those anti-god philosophers who control higher education. If academic freedom WAS allowed most profs wouldn't sink their conscience to sell that dogma.
The coding needed for anything in DNA is precise. Many disease states are minor errors in the DNA and many errors in DNA code are fatal to an organism. It just doesn't happen. I wrote computer programs and that is baby's play compared with DNA.
For numbers that exceed 1 chance in 10^50 a probabiblity and statistics mathematician will imform you that is the threshold of impossibility. 10^100 approximates the volume of the known Universe in cubic Angstroms. A hydrogen atom is about an Angstrom in diameter based on the Bohr radius of 0.53 A. Probabilities far worse than that exist for the simplest steps in evolution as proposed by models beginning with just chemical evolution. The chances against the right kind of molecules occurring is beyond possibility.
Get real. There is a GOD. He cares for you since he made you. He loves you and knows that we are all stupid here but stop denying him the chance to show HOW MUCH HE CARES.
As an ex-jw of 45years I am very happy in Christendom - the world wide empire of blessings from Jesus.

joining a new religion after being a lifetime jw would be like getting remarried at middle age after years of putting your heart, soul, faith, and commitment into it only to find out it was a hoax.
i have been happily married for many years and if (god forbid) i should ever find myself single one day...i can't imagine ever wanting to remarry...especially not if i had been terribly betrayed as i feel i have been by this organization..
After 45 years in the WT I left and attend a local Southern Baptist Church. It's like a family. I have quality study materials, choices of discipleship courses, activities, friends for me, my ex-JW wife, my ex-JW pre-teen son, my ex-JW step-daughters and grand-daughter.
I first hand learned how they invent and then re-invent truth on the fly, invent their own proofs while claiming that they are quoting a true expert, claim they always taught 1914 but actually had 1799, 1874, 1914, 1915, 1925, 1948, 1975 in the same role in doctrine.
They repeatedly quote atheists like Bertrand Russell who wrote Why I Am Not A Christian And Other Essays On Religion And Related Subjects, and Stephen Mumford edited: Russell on Metaphysics: Selections from the Writings of Bertrand Russell.
They quote anti-Darwin evolutionists (in a WT evolution vs. creation book) like Francis Hitching who wrote The Neck of the Giraffe or Where Darwin Went Wrong, and Earth Magic, and Dowsing: The psi connection.
Angels and Women is edited by the WT from a book called Seola by Ann Eliza Smith
featuring a demon angel that reformed and wanted to get back into Jehovah’s good graces.

“Angels and Women (1924). This book is a revision of the book Seola by Mrs. J.G. Smith. According to The Golden Age magazine (Oct. 27, 1924 p. 35 and Golden Age, July 30, 1924 p. 702), published by the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witnesses), Seola was revised at the suggestion of Charles Taze Russell and published as this volume. Editions of the book at the headquarters of the Watchtower Society (Bethel library) state: "Introduction by J.F.R. [Joseph F. Rutherford]. Appendix by C.J.W. [Clayton J. Woodworth]. Written by a brother had been long in the service, was incapacitated, and sought to provide for himself by thus "indirectly" presenting some valuable information. Not altogether up to date, as "Angels" booklet and other information supplements and revises what this work contains."

see: http://members.cox.net/jellogator/pyramid/pyramid.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Taze_Russell touches on his beliefs in Pyramidology.
And his followers thought the Pyramid was so important to WT doctrine that they built a Masonic One-Dollar-Bill style Pyramid for him as his cemetery monument, see: http://www.spotlightministries.org.uk/russellspyramid.htm
Is this “Religion is a snare and a racket”, “Christendom” bashing organization the truth?
They can’t have thought of themselves as a religion to parade that sign. Christendom means the domain of Christ, Christ’s Domain - Christendom. Like a Kingdom is the domain of a King. So they don’t want to part of Christ’s domain - why?
Get real, get out of the WATCHTOWER and go to Church. Get over it. They lied and Jesus IS IN CHRISTIANITY in traditional Christian Churches.
Or do I have to add several hundred more reasons proving the damned nature of WT origins, doctrine, practices, associations?
It actually only does take faith in Jesus paying the penalty in full for our sins to be saved. What can you add to the Blood of Jesus?
Fuzzy Paul at your service. Got any questions? PM me.

“Deut 6:4- Hear, O Israel: The LORDS our Gods is one LORD, yet Three Divine Essences! - RCV”
Ummm, The Jewish sages believe in ten emanations (Sephirot) of "The One" each of which has a personality. And,
Revelation 1:4
Prologue
John:
To the seven churches in the province of Asia.
Grace and peace to you from the One who is, who was, and who is coming; from the seven spirits before His throne
Revelation 3:1
The Letter to Sardis
"To the angel of the church in Sardis write:
"The One who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says:
Revelation 4:2-5
The Throne Room of Heaven
Immediately I was in the Spirit, and there in heaven a throne was set. One was seated on the throne, and the One seated looked like jasper and carnelian stone. A rainbow that looked like an emerald surrounded the throne. Around that throne were 24 thrones, and on the thrones sat 24 elders dressed in white clothes, with gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and thunder. Burning before the throne were seven fiery torches, which are the seven spirits of God.
Revelation 5:5,6
The Lamb Takes the Scroll
Then one of the elders said to me, "Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and its seven seals." Then I saw one like a slaughtered lamb standing between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.
Do you really think that you have the last word on the nature of God?
If you had only read the Bible, would you have derived the Watchtower’s doctrines denying that The Holy Spirit is a person?
Isaiah 63:9,10
Remembrance of Grace
In all their suffering, He suffered, and the Angel of His Presence saved them. He redeemed them because of His love and compassion; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.
But they rebelled, and grieved His Holy Spirit. So He became their enemy [and] fought against them.
the Angel of His Presence = His Holy Spirit
Why would a Christian hating organization that denies that anyone can have God’s Holy Spirit teach them directly and individually have the last word on truth? I have repeatedly seen the same subject being taught at the same time from several different independent sources on TV, the Radio, Lifeway pubs (for example) and local pulpits. Only the Holy Spirit can do this.
Pray for truth from the source or do you not trust HIM?
Respectfully,
Paul
this scripture stands out to me...... 1 cor 1:17-21 for christ dispatched me, not to go baptizing, but to go declaring the good news, not with wisdom of speech, that the torture stake of the christ should not be made useless.. 18 for the speech about the torture stake is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is gods power.
19 for it is written: i will make the wisdom of the wise [men] perish, and the intelligence of the intellectual [men] i will shove aside.
20 where is the wise man?
"The bible only tells us how the Eunuch got contacted and Philip's preaching, then his baptism."
Drawing any conclusions about further actions of the Eunuch using wishful thinking that the story can be made to fit ones agenda is DISHONEST because the bible says no more about it.
"The bible does indeed only say how he was contacted and his baptism. That's it. Speculating he did anything else after his baptism is adding to the scriptures."
Amen
I was a JW for 45 years then I went searching. I settled in a Southern Baptist Church, a common version of Baptist here in Florida. Very contrary to anything I was taught in the WT:
1.) We aren’t and did not become “demonized” or turn into “pure hate” by leaving the JWs, reading anti-JW lit, or visiting and studying with any Catholic, Jewish, Messianic, or Protestant group.
2.) I and my family are incredibly happy. We are loved and respected.
3.) I read this forum with so many talking suicide due to the ELDERS JC actions in their lives and remember what it did to us to be falsely accused, declared immoral, called "adulterers, bigamists, and the parents of bastards".
4.) I have a quality of study material that far exceeds the WT pubs.
5.) NONE of the churches, synagogues I visited demands absolute devotion or proclaims itself the only way. I have never heard the self promotion, self glorifying, proud "hurray for us" behaviors I heard weekly in the KH.
6.) I studied with a retired Seminary professor who edited a Bible translation and he is the humblest man I know. No pretentiousness. Not from him or any of the pastors, deacons, retired missionaries and pastors in our group of 750.
7.) Deciding who is the "truth" with Watchtower notions is ludicrous. They invented and falsified ‘proofs’. Type into Google any WT doctrine “Watchtower cross” or “Watchtower Jesus worship” for example and check out the research on the falsified WT doctrines. Liars lie and Satan is the Father of the lie. There is no honor in believing in lies.
I so wish you would consider that you are the one who is responsible to God for what you believe and how you act. You can’t tell him that you were just following the orders of the CO or a ten year old WT article to abuse someone, judge and that with faulty promotion, or act dishonestly. You aren’t “in the truth” if you don’t hold Jesus as being in the Number 1 position in the Universe - HE is the truth and the way and the life.
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. (Hebrews 1:1-3)
Does that sound like an angels powers of the full powers of God himself? Since:
For He has put everything under His feet. But when it says "everything" is put under Him, it is obvious that He who puts everything under Him is the exception. And when everything is subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all.
At this time Jesus is number one in charge and announcing “Jehovah’s Kingdom” is distressingly inappropriate. It is Jesus’ Kingdom. Knowing this and then saying that we shouldn’t look intently at Jesus for our every need is telling the Father that we don’t approve of his choice of absolute ruler of the Universe.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the parent also loves his child. (1 John 5:1)
I can’t say enough except that all of our Watchtower brainwashed in reasons for refusing to consider or investigate traditional Christianity is based on lies, exaggeration, irrational fear, false standards of doctrine trying to prove “Babylonish” religion (unsubstantiated nonsense if you actually investigated Babylon and its religions) and hatred of actual Christian doctrine. Go read the first and second century Church Fathers including the actual disciples of Peter and John. Read Josephus’ The Antiquities of the Jews - book 18, chapter 3, paragraph 3 on how Jesus was felt to have to have been more than a man.
Since the Watchtower’s origins are in Charles Russell’s promotion of “proving the Free-Masonry of the Bible” makes his WT doctrines “Egyptian-ish” religion what with his promoting 1914 based on the length of a hallway in the Great Pyramid!
Is that the source of your truth? Free-masonry? New World Order? Who are they, really?
I pray to know truth, do you? Do you trust that the source of truth isn’t going to use a two centuries old political - philosophical fraternity as his exclusive outlet? Ask God, Jesus himself to reveal truth directly to you and listen to him. Don’t trust that WT brainwashing of “spiritual ruin” coming by reading the Bible on your own.
Love and regards,
Paul
the officer was very understanding and helpful .
he said you would be surprised how many citizens they have come in and ask how to stop the jehovahs from coming to their doors .. .
i told him my whole story about leaving the jw's after 44 yrs and just wanting peace and freedom .
Eight months or so after sending a letter warning against trespassing a lone elder came to my door asking if I still did not want calls! I told him to leave, he did not but kept writing on his territory card! I repeated it and stepped out onto the porch and said very firmly and loudly "Leave now, not when you feel like it." He did and I trailed him to the street in escort.
Another pair of elders came to my door after that when they learned I had become Baptist. I said that they must leave, I was ignored and their demands for information continued. I said that I will call the Sheriff's office and my friends there will explain what that means. They left.
They do not obey any laws if they don't wish to. Forgive me for my negativity.
Bless you and search for the real Jesus,
Paul
are you certain you're baptized?.
is it also not true, because of that, the old law covenant was set aside?
{1 corinthians 1:17} {romans 11:13}.
Wannabe,
Who are you, a defective elder or something? Your reasoning is out of context with the passages. You are tiring to read and dishonest. You wrongly condemn non-JW Christians as being blind blah, blah.
You are a false "acusser of our brothers".
Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought, but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Messiah have now come,
because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown out:
the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
for they did not love their lives in the face of death.
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them!
Woe to the earth and the sea,
for the Devil has come down to you with great fury,
because he knows he has a short time. (Revelation 12:7 - 12 Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Exodus 20 : 16 reads, "Do not give false testimony against your neighbor."
If you want to stay out of HADES ( whatever is there it is not good)
" 'Father,' he said, 'then I beg you to send him to my father's house— because I have five brothers—to warn them, so they won't also come to this place of torment.'
"But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.'
" 'No, father Abraham,' he said. 'But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
"But he told him, 'If they don't listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead. ' "
(Luke 16 : 19 - 31 excerpt)
Jesus said he had all authority THEREFORE ...
The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Then Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:16 - 20 Holman Christian Standard Bible)
That is in water, like Philip did for the Ethiopian. The WT did not use the words " in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" at my 1978 baptism, it was in their name. I was stolen.
Shame on you. I go to a Baptist Church and others at times and have found ALL of that type of reasoning to be a huge lie. The Bible is not to be used to paint others with slander.
But I do still pray for people like you,
Paul
i don't understand why the elders want this letter so badly ....for one i don't remember signing a contract to become a jehovah's witness ,why do i need to resign ?.
also i was baptised in 1978 before the baptism questions changed , i dedicated myself to god not an organization .
my vow was to follow the direction by holy spirit as revealed to me through the bible, not the watchtower ...... if i belonged to the luthern church and quit going after three yrs they drop your name off the member list ........but if i chose to come to easter or christmas service everyonre would still talk to me i just wouldn't be a member any more .. .
Dear Friend,
I think - NOT. Do Not give them a reason to think they have power over you.
I wrote a letter to four previous congregations I went to for years each explaining the reasons the Watchtower was so badly corrupt. I reasoned out that public reports against the WT had to be true since libel lawsuits are handy and effective against such. I exposed the corrupt decisions they made with the United Nations membership they had and they DID NOT need a library card. I felt that a solid condemnation would be a testimony to sincere but blinded elders. I didn't say I was leaving, I made it obvious they weren't going to see me there again. I even called the org Satanic and demon inspired!
Lies, lies, lies and Satan is the Father of the lie but the WT wants one to lie, in court if they say to and despite perjury penalty, to protect the "organization" even if the issue is a pedophile being tried. That would protect the pedophile! Paul wanted to protect Christians from such sinners and said to get THEM out
Could you really trust such a dishonest organization where deceit is institutionalized?
When two elders demanded me to answer, "Do you still want to be a Jehovah's Witness?" I sternly warned them NOT to put words in my mouth. I said that I didn't answer to them any more and that their rules do not apply here.
My testimonies at Cornerstone Baptist Church where I attend now (great Bible study - try it you will like it) must be effective since I 've heard that JW in field service walk away when they are told by the householder he goes to my Church! True story, the brother said, "Oh you must really know your bible well then."
Go to a traditional Protestant Church. Don't listen to the tape recording the WT put into your head, that is Mind Control, Cult Thought Control, Brain Washing. There aren't demons powerful enough to stop you from hearing truth.
Blessings,
Paul
i posted this part of the story earlier this week.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/191112/1/the-effect-of-this-religion-on-my-children-the-action-i-had-to-take-part-i.
so we are at the point where my daughter has been taking in my lifestyle for 4 years since she i left the truth when she was just 4 years old.
my son who is a couple of years younger thankfully seems to be immune to most of the indoctrination from the jws.
Dear Jambon1,
This next site is about the sexual abuse problem of the JWs. It is institutionalized. The court ruling in California not very long ago ripped open the belly of the beast.
http://www.watchtower.cc/This is NOT a web-site run by the Watchtower. What is so cool about this site is the actual Watchtower can not prevent this law firm from using their name !
i have been meaning to tell this story for some time now.
i feel that i would like to share it so that it may serve as a warning to anyone who thinks that the jw religion does not have a negative effect on children.. i have been out of the religion for 4 years now.
i wasn't brought up in the organisation.
Jambon1
That's Ham1 in French, yes?
Consider it a blessing that the fallout rate for JW youths is quite high. They likely won't stay in. The mental illness rate for JWs is unusually high and that is clinically significant illness. The marginally disturbed are also a casualty. I found great happiness in a Baptist Church after 45 years inside. My Baptist cong feels like a family.
I couldn't imagine going to another Church but that isn't to say that I consider another traditional Christian religion inferior because the differences are mostly structure of the governance and style of the worship service. The difference of doctrine is fairly minor and insignificant in my thought. I have freedom of conscience and can choose to modify my faith and do so openly, thank God. This "a la carte" approach to doctrine is appropriate since I must answer to God for my beliefs and why I made the decisions I did.
I don't believe in the weird and intolerably inconsistent No-Blood transfusion doctrine and I would permit blood transfusions as long as I think the Doctor is recommending a responsible option. It is not reasonable to follow dictates of an anonymous group of JW GB guys that not too many decades ago said that organ transplants were "cannibalism" and now allow them with silence on that issue.
Dr. Jerry Bergman is an ex-JW that I think wrote for the Awake on mental health. He has multiple University degrees. An essay he wrote http://www.seanet.com/~raines/hate.html discusses his feelings of why JWs have higher mental illness rates. I don't agree with his Creationist 6,000 year old Earth beliefs and promotion. The theology is technically defective but it takes deep research on multiple points to identify the fatal flaws. It relies on wishful thinking to contradict the hundred plus lines of evidence against and lacks scientific methodology for support. It seems that he is not very sophisticated at identifying faulty theology - first a JW then a Creationist! But he is a Methodist and that is good.
I won't live in fear of Demon possession from reading another Bible Translation or books in the 220 area of a library. The GB plagiarize aplenty and the editors are proven to be dishonest.
http://www.mmoutreachinc.com/jehovahs_witnesses/jehovah_witness_index.html is a good resource.
Love and prayers,
Paul
