What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?
by minimus inwhen i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

My sideburns ... The elders thought they were too long. I answered back, "Didn't Jesus have a beard? So what's wrong with sideburns?" The elders didn't like that...

I wish I had a mother like you!
I love that when you ask a Witness about 1975, that they down play it. "Those people over reacted!" or "The society never said that 1975 was the end of the system." Then they go back and re-write the WT and Awake articles in their bound volumes to cover up their lies. So young people like your daughter would never know about it.
The Organization has a lot in common with a story I heard once about a snake in a tree telling lies.

I started college after high school but I dropped out because of finiacal reasons. (Your 19 years old - trying to go to college without you're parents help. What would you think would happen?) I was still a Witness at the time. I worked construction for almost ten years, when I started going to night school. After I left the Witnesses, I went back to school full time. I got my degree and now have a great graphic design career. All without the help of my parents. In fact when I finally graduated they never came to my party or even sent a card.
I won't lie though, it was one of the hardest thing I've even done. I would work 40 hours and week and go to school. Pull all nighters on projects and study all night long.
