it's unavoidable... when a jw finds out you no longer believe it's "the truth," they're eager to jump on flaws in your thinking.
they (and formerly, we) want to believe that, when someone leaves, there must have been something that "soured you" to the organization.
some personal thing that resulted in bitterness and therefore your departure.. it's good to be able to say that you didn't leave because of any big scandal or personal affront, isn't it?
No one should threaten you from considering ALL of the information pertaining to an important subject. It is fundamentally and intellectually dishonest to do so.
Yet the great mind fuck here is....they believe their religion is based on "accurate knowledge".
If it is the truth all the investigation in the world would back it up.

my oldest daughter (who is currently up in ct) just called to tell me my stepmother (wicked witch of the west) was in an accident yesterday evening.
she was riding a moped and crashed it into a parked car (don't ask me what an overweight 53 year old woman with bad knees is doing on a moped but whatever...supposed to save on the cost of gas or something).
anyway...she shattered her right leg and wrist in the accident (her good walking side) and apparently will never be the same.

sometimes i wonder if posting on this site helps me "recover" from the trauma that the witnesses put me through, and have no doubt it does at times.
no where else is there such a support team of individuals who know personally what you've been through and how you feel.
but at the same time, i often wonder if coming on here causes me to obsess in a way, preventing me from "moving on" with my life.
I would say it's needed in the beggining much like a crutch is needed to heal a wounded leg. But if used too much that same crutch can become a hindrance in the recovery process.
i'm feeling rejected and hurt because i've just been informed that i am not invited to my little sisters wedding.
first, here's a little background story on my relationship with her: she and i are three years apart.
when we were younger we were very close (i was in the "truth" back then).
When i was Dfd I went to the KH for the ceremony of my little brothers wedding, and after the talk, my middle brother came up to me and in front of all the relatives smiled shook my hand and said with a grin "Stay Out Of The Pictures!" and walked away. .
