Anyone read 'Misquoting Jesus' and 'When Jesus became God?'?
by Qcmbr ini've just finished both these books to give me a better grasp of the nt history for my conversations with my jw friend, its fairly mind blowing and pretty much rocks the nt as a source of stability and inerrancy.
fascinating stuff!
if it hadn't been for the visigoths and some opportune political intrigue and deaths most of christianity might have been based on a non trinitarian doctrine!

What if we are really alone in the universe?
by zagor inhow would that make you feel if we were the only pleasant accident in inhospitable universe, if such 'miracle' newer happened elsewhere in our universe?
if there are no other alien civilizations that could rescue us or ?show us the way?
as some popular writers like to think.

I have a hard time believing people think we are alone. But they have that right to have this thinking I can not being a Alien to dinner for them to see. I have seen several things that has me convinced we are not alone.

What ever my thinking is worth. I believe there is overwhelming proof that the early Mags, books, and buildings had Masonic symbols on them, why I am not for sure also The Russell family was one of the founders of the prestige's Skull and Cross Bones whether or not Charles was one or not I do not know. It can not be proven one way or another. Then you have the fact that C.T. Russell's grave stone is no doubt a Masonic symbol, but that does not prove he was responsible for the pyramid over his grave.
All of this should at least makes a thinking person wonder what was going on and a thinking person could make the jump that there is a connection..
I am more and more amazed at the pure arrogant jerks that post comments that put others down. Shame on you.

3.3 million old girl ?
by oldflame inlondon (reuters) - a 3.3 million-year-old skeleton of the earliest child ever found shows the ancient ancestor of modern humans walked upright but may also have climbed trees, scientists said on wednesday.
they found the well-preserved remains of a three-year-old girl of the species australopithecus afarensis -- which includes the fossil skeleton known as "lucy" -- in the dikika area of ethiopia, 400 kms northeast of the capital addis ababa.. "it represents the earliest and most complete partial skeleton of a child ever found in the history of paeleoanthropology," said dr zeresenay alemseged, of the max planck institute for evolutionary anthropology in leipzig, germany.. the skull, torso and upper and lower limbs, including the hand, show both human and ape-like features.
the state of the ancient bones suggest she was buried in a flood which may also have caused her death.. the remains provide the first evidence of what babies of early human ancestors looked like.

Finally-Free that hurts deep down to think about those like you that decide to be good BORG members. I can understand your pain. I was like you, I was not going to have any kids but after ten years of marriage my wife could not stand not having kids so I gave in. I was almost like you and I can not imagine life with out them.

I agree with it. The state of Washington took legal action against myself and my wife to give a transfusion to my daughter. THANK GOD THEY DID THIS.
I know the lady mentioned was 23 but she might not of had a husband and then the State would have had to take care of the baby.

Did anyone else wonder why?
by Jerohobobonadad ini always thought that if you want to do 6 or 60 hours a month in field service, why make a big fanfare about it and become a pioneer or whatever?
i always thought if you want to go out loads, then go out loads; why do you need a group of "elders" to approve of it and make an announcement?
i've read about a few on this board who got turned down for pioneering.

Matt 22:23-30--no sex for resurrected ones?
by M.J. inthe wts promotes the idea that in the "new system" members of the great crowd, who are not resurrected, will be able to marry and have children.. but what about those that are resurrected?.
does the wts apply matt 22:23-30 to people resurrected on earth?
(the passage is obviously applied to people who were pre-new covenant).

I was involved in a conversation years ago. An Elder from Barthel said the GB member told him that they thought the people resurrected would have no sexual organs. NO BALLS, no PENIS, NO TITS, NO VIGINA. We had a field day with him over this boy did he get mad to the point of swearing he was correct because a GB member told him that, so of course it was true, LOL
So if you make it through Armageddon you might have to spy on someone when they are peeing to see if you can have mate with that person.
