Heard of one where a guy screwed a chicken.
So you could say he "choked the chicken". Gawd, I can't belive I typed that.....shameful.............but you know you were all thinking it.
we had one were a guy screwed his dog.. a guy got his step daughter pregnant and ran off with her, his wife committed sue-aside , in our country you can't marry your step children if you are the course of the brake up however apparently its not against scriptural law so the congregation gave them a marriage.. we had 4 sisters pregnant in the congro (all married) this bro of questionable mental health confessed to the elders to being father of them all.. .

Our long time PO (back in the 60's-70"s) was caught sexually abusing the little girl next door to where they lived....he was also of the annointed......it was needless to say a bit of a fiasco
folks,.
with all the information out there, available for all to see; exposing the lies, hypocrisy, and outright ridiculousness (is that a word?..if not it should be) of this whole witness religion, how in the world are people still buying into this?.
is it because i don't have jehovah's spirit anymore?
"But where would we go"........typing that made me throw up in my mouth a little.
my husband, son, and i all love riding four wheelers.
my husband has an ' 05 polaris sportsman, i just bought an '07 polaris hawkeye.
my son has a 110atv & a 90cc dirtbike (he is 9) .
bg75, isn't that funny we have the same ATV's......the 2006 Sportsmen is red and the 2005 Hawkeye is black........we bought the Hawkeye first, gotta love the independant suspension.
Hatfield/McCoy looks like a blast and like you said, once you get there park your car and do all of your travelling on the ATV...... groceries, dinner, whatever. Here's a link to the website
If you go to Callalantee, let me know what you think, it's alot closer than WV.

I have 2 ATV's a Polaris Sportsman 500 and a Polaris Hawkeye. Most of the ATV'ing that I do is in my own backyard, I have 4 acres and have created trails thru the woods on my property as well as some extra trails off my property.
Has anyone ever riden on the Hatfield and McCoy trail system in West Virginia? It looks like alot of fun and I am thinking about a trip to ride there.
well it looks like this site is a real melting pot, a broad spectrum of views and beliefs.
for sure there are many disaffected ex jws.
so in as few words as possible, preferably not more than one sentence, how would you describe yourself spiritually?
The way the wind blows
first a bit of background (in case you are not familiar with my family history)... my mom is 68, my dad is 63. they run their own small business which involves my dad travelling all over the country and my mom running the office.
my dad is an insulin dependant diabetic and my mom suffers from chronic high blood pressure.
my only sibling is a sister who is 27 and lives in bethal.she is a housekeeper and her husband repairs the shoes there.. today i call my mom to say hi... the conversation goes something like this..... me: so when are you going back to work mom?.
I guess the question Daisy is this; What are you gonna do about it....or, is there anything you CAN do about it????
Its tough when its your parents and/or siblings, but you gotta call their bluff, so to speak. Ask them what they're gonna do if this system lingers another 20 or 30 years, whats their Plan B if the big A doesn't come next week. If they're self employed they may not have social security to fall back on (for what its worth), so you have a right to be concerned.
Perhaps remind them about the 1975 fiasco and the problems it created for many of the R&F who sold out for Armageddon coming that year, then subsequently the years it took for many to recover (some probably never did). Of course the "new light" about the 1914 generation should also show them that no witness can get comfortable that "Sky Daddy" (sorry, couldn't resist) is gonna pull the plug any time soon.
If you want to have a serious conversation with your mother about this you probably should not '"attack" her beliefs, leave that for another time. But help her see that Armageddon cannot be a reliable retirement plan.
FWIW

what is the common justification given by witnesses as to why they have a different bible?
a friend once told me that it was because the other versions of bibles weren't translated accurately and things had been changed.
at this though, she also told me that should i decide to study, i could use my own bible.
Simple. The bible is a book. Publishing companies sell books. The watchtower society is a publishing company. They have a captive audience, and they don't want their audience buying bibles from other sources.
That pretty much sums it up......I wonder how many millions of $$$ they have made selling bibles????? That's a pretty nice protected revenue stream.
Did George Washington REALLY cut down that cherry tree!?
Umm, no, he did not.
hey there guys!
my name is brooke, age 26. i am recently dissacociated.
i have just set up a new myspace account and would like any who are on myspace to please put my on their friend list so we can encourage and support each other., i need it!
Brooke, There are people on this board that are living situations just like yours.
Some have already walked the path you're on now and have remained with their mates, some not.
Unfortunately, sometimes the marriage just can't be saved because your goals are just too different. I was fortunate, my wife was a willing participant in leaving the borg.
My point is don't be afraid to stay a while and socialize. There are so many points of view and life experiences here you will no doubt find people that you can relate to and will offer good ideas when it comes to navigating your new found freedom from the WTBTS.
i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.
I knew the McCumber family, actually very well. Lacy and Ina (Marks parents) were even at my wedding. Lacy died a few years ago, as far as I know Ina is still alive, they were really great people. I believe Mark IS an elder in Pontre Vedra Beach, its probably been 10 years since I have seen or spoken to him. Yes, his son is a very good golfer, it will be interesting to see how his career develops.
